Happy new year loves 💛
December was a jam-packed month full of expectations, physical and emotional demands. Throw in all the crazy extra layers of 2021 and we land in January ready to breathe it all out, let it all go and with a belly full of hope for a smoother ride for 2022.
There's no guarantee what will unfold this year or any other. That's the beauty of life. But, I believe these past few years and unpredictable moments are a much-needed shake-up. We are in the thick of murky waters and maybe some of us won't witness the waters turn clear - and that will undoubtedly be the truth should we choose not to.
A few things are evident in these cloudy times: We have limited control and the tighter we hang on to the belief that we do, the more uncomfortable and draining life becomes. Perception changes our truth entirely, but only we can change our perception. We can always choose to switch up our reality; it doesn't have to be a profound change to feel a shift. It's the small, consistent things that, over time, create a tangible difference. Duality rules. Yin and Yang. Dark and light. Good and bad. Happy and sad. It's all part of it. We can't truly experience one without the other.
We don't know what's coming, so do the stuff you love with those who feel good. Don't spend another year doing stuff that doesn't feel great with people who don't feel great to get you through to another year of doing more stuff that doesn't feel great with more people who don't feel great...That would be as wack as it sounds reading that sentence!
I shall leave you with a fave quote from the legend Alan Watts:
"The whole process of nature is an integrated process of immense complexity, and it's impossible to tell whether anything that happens in it is good or bad — because you never know what will be the consequence of the misfortune; or, you never know what will be the consequences of good fortune."
Live hard, rest peacefully, dream wonderfully & love fiercely ###
