🍃 Introducing Amy MacGregor (BA Hons, MClinPsych) Clinical Psychologist to the team practising in Brunswick Heads 🍃
Amy is a clinical psychologist who provides assessment and treatment of a variety of clinical presentations in children and young people. She is passionate about ensuring that children and adolescents are well supported and understood so that they can achieve the most that they can out of life, as well as in supporting parents to feel empowered in their parenting experiences. Amy’s therapeutic approach is relaxed, warm, practical and offers a safe space for her clients to explore the issues that impact their mental health and well-being.
Amy specialises in understanding the unique needs and challenges of children and adolescents within their family and social contexts. Amy has over seven years of experience in working with a wide range of presentations, including complex and developmental trauma, anxiety disorders, learning difficulties, school engagement issues, low self-esteem, mood disorders, attachment and behavioural challenges, and relationship difficulties.
Within a warm and non-judgemental space, Amy draws upon many evidence-based therapies to inform her practice, including eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based therapies, solution-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and attachment informed approaches. Amy is also a facilitator of the Circle of Security attachment-based parenting program (COS-P).
Amy primarily offers diagnostic assessments for ADHD, autism, learning disorders, and intellectual impairment. She is also working within the education system.
