This is a big subject requiring small steps.
It can get overwhelming to think about all the different sources of toxins that we have in our home and environment. The key here is to take small steps towards changing what we consume and how we live. And of course educate yourself on the subject.
I, personally, have been chipping away at clearing and changing these products from my home for some time. For years now I’ve only used essential oils and natural skin products but I’ve hung onto a couple of good quality, health food store bought, non-stick pots & pans and still have a few plastic cooking utensils.
Yesterday I listened to passionately speak on the podcast about her expertise on toxicology, her lived experience with fertility issues and how she changed things around. I created this post and after I threw out my pans.
Not only do we need to remove these toxins from our home and environment but we also need to help support our bodies to clear and detoxify built up chemicals from our internal organs.
Acupuncture is fantastic at helping to support these detox pathways by optimising the healthy function of our organs, supporting digestion and elimination and increasing healthy blood flow. As well as regulating the nervous system by calming the mind and Shen which also aids in the healthy function of these organs.
Eating foods that support detox is also important. Organic or whole foods, leafy greens, lemon squeezed into water in the morning. As mentioned in this podcast, foods that contain the amino acids needed for Glutathione products (a powerful antioxidant found in the Liver, Kidneys & Ovaries) such as eggs, organic meats, broccoli, Brussels sprouts & matcha tea (organic only).
There are many great resources to help get you educated on how to start eliminating these products from your day to day life.
is another great source of a wealth of information.
But it is important you remember not to get too overwhelmed or stressed by it. If you have to drink from a plastic bottle it’s better than not drinking at all as hydration is essential.
