Ever wonder why I gently twist or adjust your acupuncture needles during treatment? 🪡✨

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we use subtle needle techniques to influence how your body responds. A gentle twist can:

🌿 Strengthen and tonify when you’re feeling depleted
🌿 Move stagnation when there’s pain or tension
🌿 Help regulate Qi and Blood flow
🌿 Deepen the therapeutic effect of the point

Every small adjustment is tailored to you and what your body needs on the day.

Tiny movements. Big impact.

POV: You’re lying on the treatment table... soft music playing… heat lamp warming your feet and a few tiny needles doing their magic ✨

Most people are surprised by how relaxing acupuncture feels. The needles are ultra-fine, and once they’re in, your body shifts into rest-and-repair mode.

🌿This is your time to switch off.
🌿To regulate your nervous system.
🌿To support your hormones, digestion, sleep, or pain naturally.

Just you, your breath, and your body recalibrating.

💛March is Endometriosis Awareness Month 💛

Endometriosis affects 1 in 9 women and people assigned female at birth in Australia yet so many still feel unheard, dismissed, or told that painful periods are “normal.” They’re not.

As a practitioner of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine I regularly support patients living with endometriosis alongside their medical care. Many patients report shorter, more manageable periods and reduced flare-ups over time.
While we don’t claim to cure endometriosis, TCM may help to:

✨ Reduce pelvic pain
✨ Ease painful or heavy periods
✨ Support hormonal balance
✨ Improve circulation
✨ Calm inflammation
✨ Support fertility where needed
✨ Reduce stress and nervous system overload

From a TCM perspective, endometriosis often involves patterns such as blood stasis, qi stagnation, and underlying deficiencies. Treatment is individualised, which means your care plan is tailored specifically to you, your cycle, your symptoms, and your goals.

If you’ve been told to “just take the pill” or “it’s part of being a woman,” please know there are supportive options available.

💛 You deserve to be heard.
💛 You deserve to feel supported.
💛 You deserve a plan that looks at your whole body.

If you’d like to explore how acupuncture and TCM may support you alongside your GP or specialist care, I’d love to help.

✨👀What do I keep on my work bench? 👀✨

It may look like a simple setup, but every item has a purpose in supporting your body:

🪡 Acupuncture needles – ultra-fine, sterile, and in different sizes
💚 Jade Gua Sha – to improve circulation and release tight fascia
🌡️ Heat pack – to relax muscles and enhance treatment effects
🧴 Fisiocrem – for natural muscle and joint support
💧 Magnesium oil – to help ease tight, crampy muscles
✨ Massage oil – for hands-on bodywork and deeper relaxation
🌿 Moxa (handheld and stick-on) – to gently warm points and boost circulation
🔵 Cups – for cupping therapy to release tension and move stagnant Qi
🕯️ Tealight candle & lighter – to safely light the moxa & create a vacuum for cupping

Every session is personalised, sometimes I use just a few of these tools, sometimes more, depending on what your body needs on the day.

In our appointments together, one of the first things I do is check your pulse… but it's not just to count your heartbeat.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, pulse diagnosis gives us insight into what’s happening beneath the surface. We’re feeling for qualities like depth, strength, speed and rhythm. Each one offering clues about your Qi, Blood, and organ systems.

Is your body feeling depleted? Stressed? Running hot? Struggling with sleep or hormones? Your pulse helps me guide your treatment so it’s tailored specifically to you on that day.

It’s gentle, non-invasive, and one of the many ways I personalise your care.

Curious about what your pulse reveals?

Ever noticed those lines running through an acupuncture statue? 👀✨

This model shows the meridian system. The energetic pathways used in acupuncture that connect the whole body. When energy flows freely through these meridians, we feel balanced, resilient and well. When it’s blocked or depleted, symptoms can show up in many different ways.

Acupuncture works by gently stimulating specific points along these lines to help restore flow, support the nervous system and bring the body back into balance 🌿
It’s never just about one symptom - it’s about treating the whole person.

The Year of the Fire Horse 🔥🐎

Tomorrow marks the start of the Year of the Fire Horse, which brings a very distinct energy to Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The Horse is associated with movement, independence, courage and momentum. Add the Fire element, and this year carries themes of passion, visibility, emotional expression and transformation.

🔥💖The Fire Element is linked to the Heart our joy, connection, purpose and capacity to feel fully alive.

In the Five Elements system:
- Fire governs joy, circulation, sleep and emotional balance.
- When balanced, it brings warmth, enthusiasm and clarity.
- When excessive, it can show up as anxiety, restlessness, poor sleep or burnout.

The Fire Horse year invites us to move forward, but not at the expense of our nervous system. It’s a year that asks us to stay connected to our Heart energy, pace ourselves, and choose what genuinely lights us up rather than what simply keeps us busy.

From a TCM perspective, this is a powerful year for:
- Reconnecting with purpose
- Supporting emotional and hormonal balance
- Nourishing the Heart and calming the mind
- Creating sustainable energy, not just momentum

Acupuncture can be a beautiful way to support Fire energy — helping calm excess, strengthen what’s depleted, and keep you grounded as the year unfolds.

If you’d like support moving through the Fire Horse year with balance and intention, bookings are open and you’re very welcome to come in ✨

Lately in clinic I’ve been seeing so many people who are doing all the right things. Eating well, exercising, trying to rest - yet still feeling flat, overwhelmed or out of balance.

This is where acupuncture can be so powerful!
It’s not just about treating symptoms, but about supporting your system as a whole. Your nervous system, hormones, digestion, sleep and emotional wellbeing.

I often describe acupuncture as a way of helping your body remember how to regulate itself again. Sometimes that means more energy. Sometimes it means better sleep. Sometimes it simply means feeling more like you.

If you’ve been feeling disconnected from your body or running on empty, you don’t have to push through it alone.
If this resonates, bookings are open and I’d love to support you.

Warmly,
Kylie ✨

📆When does Chinese New Year actually start? 📆

Unlike the Western calendar, Chinese New Year doesn’t fall on a fixed date. Chinese New Year begins on the new moon between 21 January and 20 February, which is why the date changes each year.

This year, Chinese New Year begins on 17 February.

This can sometimes cause confusion, especially when people hear about the “animal year” changing earlier or later depending on the system being used. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we generally work with the lunar calendar, which aligns with the Chinese New Year celebrations most people are familiar with.

Energetically, the weeks leading up to Chinese New Year are considered a time of clearing, reflection and gentle preparation, rather than pushing ahead. It’s a beautiful opportunity to slow down, reset your body and mind, and set intentions that feel supportive for the year ahead.

If you’d like support moving through this transition, bookings are open and you’re very welcome to book in ✨

👕“What do I wear to an acupuncture appointment?” 👕

This is such a common question and the short answer is: whatever you feel comfortable in!

Loose, comfortable clothing is ideal. Think pants that can comfortably roll up to above your knees and sleeves that can come up past your elbows. Think elastic waist bands, zips or ties that can be loosened.
This usually gives me easy access to the points I need without you having to change or feel exposed.

If we ever need to work on your abdomen or back, I’ll always explain first and make sure you’re covered and comfortable the entire time.

Acupuncture is a very gentle, relaxing experience — there’s no need to dress a certain way or “prepare” your body. Just come as you are.

If you’ve been curious but unsure what to expect, you’re very welcome to get in touch or book an appointment when you’re ready ✨

How many acupuncture sessions will I need?

While this diagram can give you a rough idea of how many session you may need it's important to know that everyone responds differently to acupuncture, and the number of sessions needed depends on a number of factors.

🌿what we’re treating
🌿your overall health, stress levels and lifestyle
🌿if it's a recent or acute issue
🌿if it's a chronic or complex issue
🌿how often you can realistically come in

Like most things in life, there is no one-size-fits-all answer.
I usually recommend starting with a few treatments and then we reassess together based on how your body is responding.

It's good to know that you’re never locked into a set number of sessions!
