Optimise Your Pelvic Floor Training! 💪✨ our team of pelvic floor physios are here to help tailor your kegels for you and your goals 🌸💗

There are many common mistakes made with pelvic floor training. If you feel like you are doing kegels and just not getting anywhere, maybe we need to change up the type of training you are focusing on. Check these 4 points and see if you are using them in your training.
✅ Breathe through your movements – Your diaphragm and pelvic floor work best together! Try to avoid holding your breath when using your pelvic floor.
✅ Train for real-life function – Strengthen in ways that support daily activities, not just isolated exercises. By training your pelvic floor in exercise you can increase strength dramatically.
✅ Alternate cues– There are many waysto contract your pelvic floor. Did you know most # people willhave a better squeeze if they think more about “holding in wind” compared to ‘squeezing’.
✅ Relax your muscles – A healthy pelvic floor isn’t just strong—it knows when to let go too! Focusing only on squeezing can halt your improvements.

Small tweaks = big improvements in your pelvic health! If you are struggling to find your pelvic floor or feel your current exercises are just not helping, reach out to our team of wonderful Women’s Health Physio’s to help you take that next step in your training.

“Stress vs Urge Incontinence — they’re not the same. 💧
Did you know that pelvic floor Physio’s can help with both and we support many females, males and children! with this at clinic on a daily basis 🙂

If you’re leaking with coughing, sneezing or exercise, that’s likely stress incontinence — often linked to weakened pelvic floor muscles and pressure on the bladder.

If it feels like you suddenly can’t hold it, especially with triggers ( ie like keys in the door or hearing water run) that’s more likely urge incontinence — usually related to an overactive bladder or pelvic floor.

💡You can have both. At the same time.
And both are treatable with pelvic floor physio, bladder retraining and support.

It’s important to have a through assessment with an experienced pelvic floor physio as treatment is different depending on the cause of symptoms… management can sometimes involve the use of in clinic tools like real time ultrasound, transcutaneous tibial nerve stimulation and sometimes devices such as pessaries to help !!

We are here to help! And know you are not alone 💗

We see you, pelvic pain ladies & Endo warriors 🌸

If you’re in the middle of a pain flare, remember to be kind and gentle with your body. Tensing, tightening, and stressing your nervous system often makes things worse — which is unhelpful when you are experiencing pain.

Use the tools you have to support yourself as best you can in the moment… and try to be kind to your body 🫶🏽

Our physios always encourage approaching flares with compassion, softness, and care. You deserve that kindness — especially now and whilst navigating pain💜

Top Tips 💩: The First Postpartum P**p

Yep, we hear it all the time... it hurts 😢😞
That first p**p after giving birth can be scary — and for good reason.

Whether you’re recovering from major abdominal surgery (like a C-section) or your pelvic floor and vaginal tissues have just been through a marathon, things are tender, healing, and sore.

Here are some Pelvic Floor Physio Tips to help make things easier and support your healing postpartum 🫶🏽🌸

➡️ Stay hydrated
➡️ Eat fibre-rich foods
➡️ Don’t rush or strain
➡️ Try a stool under your feet (hello squatty potty!)
➡️ Support your perineum with a pad or tissue if needed
& breathe “your p**p out”

Be kind to your body — it’s done something amazing 💗

Pelvic Pain & Sleep Hygiene✨

Sleep plays a powerful role in how our body perceives and responds to threat. After a poor night’s rest, our system becomes more sensitive — like an overactive alarm — making us more alert to our surroundings and, in turn, more likely to experience pain.

This is why sleep and pain are so closely linked. When we’re well rested, our nervous system is calmer, and we’re better able to manage discomfort.

Practicing good sleep hygiene can be a simple but important step in pelvic pain care.

If you’ve worked with our physios, you’ll know we take time to understand all parts of your life — from how you sleep to your stress levels — so we can offer practical, supportive strategies to help you navigate your journey of pain.
