One of the biggest lessons Iโ€™ve learned on my healing journey is the power of focusing on whatโ€™s within my control.

When we live with challenges like autoimmune conditions, itโ€™s easy to feel powerless when flares come, or when others donโ€™t understand what weโ€™re going through. But peace starts when we shift our energy away from what we canโ€™t change, and into what we can.

๐Ÿ’› I canโ€™t control other peopleโ€™s opinions, the past, or external events.

๐ŸŒฟ But I can control my self-talk, my boundaries, how I respond, and the way I treat myself and others.

This shift doesnโ€™t take away the hard days, but it gives me back my power on this healing path.

๐ŸŒธ Sharing from my beautiful friend Liko ๐ŸŒธ

๐Ÿ“ธ Side by Side โ€” August 24 to May 25

โ€œThis feels a little vulnerable to shareโ€ฆ but I want to show you whatโ€™s possible when you commit to small daily habits and trust the process.

What you canโ€™t see in these photo is the self-doubt I felt when I started.

The emotional eating.

The overwhelm.

The frustration.

What you can see is almost 40 lbs gone, a lot off my waist and a whole lot of visceral fat thatโ€™s no longer surrounding my organs.

I donโ€™t have fancy scales or exact body fat readings โ€” but based on waist measurement and overall weight lost, Iโ€™ve likely shed around 20 lbs / 9kg of visceral fat. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿคท Thatโ€™s the stubborn, dangerous fat linked to hormones, stress and inflammation. It's the kind that doesnโ€™t always show first on the outsideโ€ฆ until it does.

And this?

Iโ€™ll be honest. Iโ€™ve had a head-spin of a week. Full of self-doubt. But I keep reminding myself why mindset matters SO much on this journey. Because some days youโ€™ll feel like a powerhouse and others like youโ€™re back at square one. But you're not. You're never back at square one if you keep showing up for yourself.

So if youโ€™re in a funk or feeling like itโ€™s taking forever โ€” donโ€™t give up.

This is your reminder: If I can do this, you absolutely can too!
