No vaccine, no visit from Friday 17 December 2021

In accordance with Queensland Health Directions (Hospital Entry Direction No. 7) to help keep our hospitals, patients and healthcare workers safe, from Friday 17 December 2021 all visitors must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Please note these restrictions do not apply to patients.

All visitors will be required to check in using the Check In Qld app on arrival at the hospital and will need to be able to demonstrate COVID-19 vaccination status before entering.

We kindly ask all visitors to comply with these requirements and to treat our staff and volunteers with respect as we work together to help keep everyone safe.

Due to the Lockdown in SE QLD please note the following:

For all patients with appointments during the lockdown period please call if you choose not to attend your appointment so we can make arrangements to call you to reschedule when the Lockdown ends. Where suitable I will be happy to provide a telehealth appointment.

If you do attend please wear a mask (unless you have an exception), check in on entry and attend alone unless you require a carer / guardian in attendance.

Patients outside the lockdown LGAs I advise to not attend and we will contact you to reschedule or where suitable schedule a phone consult instead.

South East Queensland is entering a 3 day lockdown from 4pm Saturday 31 July, following the detection of six new locally acquired cases of COVID-19.

This includes the following areas: 📍 Brisbane 📍 Ipswich 📍 Logan 📍 Moreton Bay 📍 Redlands 📍 Sunshine Coast 📍 Noosa 📍 Gold Coast 📍 Somerset 📍 Lockyer Valley 📍 Scenic Rim

Anyone who has been in SEQ on or since 1am 31 July must stay home unless it is absolutely essential to leave for one of these reasons:

✅ to buy essentials such as groceries or medications
✅ attend essential work or study if you can't from home (no school, except for children of essential workers)
✅ exercise within 10km from home
✅ healthcare (including to get a COVID-19 test or vaccination) or to provide help, care or support to vulnerable persons

Lockdown restrictions include:

😷 Wear a face mask when outside your home (unless in your private vehicle, when doing strenuous exercise or if you have a medical condition)
🏡 No visitors are allowed to your home (excluding volunteers and workers)
☕ Restaurants and cafes can provide takeaway or delivery service only
🎥 All non-essential businesses to close; cinemas, entertainment and recreation venues, hairdressers, gyms etc.
⛪ Places of worship to close
🎒 School to remain open for children of essential workers. Adults at schools must wear masks and students from grade 7 and above
🍼 Childcare to remain open for essential workers
💒 Only 10 people can attend weddings and funerals
🏥 Restrictions on aged care, hospitals, disability care and correctional facilities apply with no personal visitors allowed (excluding end of life visits)

As we continue to monitor COVID-19 cases in NSW, Victoria and our own state, it's important that we keep some of our local restrictions in place to keep each other safe.

🕕 From 6am Friday 16 July, restrictions in parts of South East Queensland will continue for a further 7 days. This includes 👇

😷 Wearing a face mask when you leave your home
📏 One person per two square metres in restricted businesses
🏥 Restricting visitors to vulnerable facilities

COVID vaccine recommendations for pregnant women have been updated - it is now recommended that all pregnant women be offered the Pfizer vaccine.

RANZCOG and ATAGI recommend that pregnant women are routinely offered Pfizer mRNA vaccine (Cominarty) at any stage of pregnancy.
