Rest: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Highly Recommend

It’s been a long time since I took a day off to do absolutely nothing (well … except post this 😉) It wasn’t easy … there was that moment around 5am (when I usually bound out of bed regardless and get moving) when I had to make the decision to listen to my tired worn out body rather than my very strong mind … to trust that this was a good thing … not a “waste of a day”!! So … as you may expect the world kept on spinning, nothing caught on fire or fell apart … except that belief that I must always keep going! So if you too are exhausted perhaps give yourself permission to not have to hold everything together … even if it’s just one day! No one benefits from your exhaustion! 🙏🏼❤️

Technically (Meteorologically) today is the first day of Autumn but Astronomically we are in the period of Late Summer. (My new favourite season) 🌍

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Late Summer is recognized as a unique “fifth season”. Occurring roughly from mid-February (southern hemisphere) to the autumn equinox (March 20-21) … it serves as the pivotal transition between the expansive, high-energy Yang of summer and the inward, restful Yin of autumn.

Element - Earth
Organs - Stomach/Spleen
Emotion - Worry/Self-doubt

Seasonal Wellness Tips for Late Summer ~

Support Digestion: Prioritise warm, cooked meals over raw salads or iced drinks, which “dampen” the Spleen’s digestive fire.

Eat “Earth” Foods: Focus on yellow, orange, and round produce such as sweet potatoes, carrots, pumpkin and corn.

Mindful Eating: Chew thoroughly and avoid multitasking (scrolling or working) while eating to help your body “digest” the experience as well as the food.

Movement: Engage in gentle activities like walking and Qi Gong to keep Qi moving without overexertion.

Acupressure: Stimulating points like Stomach 36 (Zu San Li) or Spleen 9 (Yin Ling Quan) can help clear dampness and strengthen digestive function.
