Dr George brings over 25 years of gynaecological and fertility expertise to the Sunshine Coast.

George trained at the University of Queensland and hospitals across Brisbane before establishing his practice here in 2001. As a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG), he's committed to providing expert care in a warm, supportive environment.

Our admin team are the friendly voices you'll hear on the phone and the welcoming faces greeting you at reception. They understand that visiting a specialist can feel daunting and they're here to make the process as smooth and comfortable as possible.

Georgina, our experienced midwife and nurse, brings additional clinical support and expertise to patient care.

George says his greatest satisfaction is "seeing patients walk through the door, nervous and concerned, and have them leave empowered with knowledge to assist in their decision making." That's what drives our entire team. Helping you feel informed, supported and confident in your healthcare decisions.

I delivered my first baby as a medical student at the Royal Women's Hospital in 1989. I have never tired of the exhilaration of witnessing a new little person arrive into the world. But at the end of last month, after 25 years of obstetric care on the Sunshine Coast and nearly 9,000 deliveries, I welcomed my final baby.

My commitment to women's health isn't ending. It's evolving.

Moving forward, my entire focus shifts to gynaecological surgery and fertility medicine. For anyone struggling to conceive, managing complex gynaecological conditions or needing specialist menopause care, I'll have more time and availability to provide the comprehensive support you deserve.

This isn't goodbye. It's a new beginning. 🌸

A heartfelt thank you πŸ’—

Over 25 years, more than 9,000 families have trusted me with their most precious moments. Reading your messages of support and gratitude since announcing I will be focusing on fertility and gynaecology from 2026 has filled me with immense pride.

In the next couple of weeks, I'll welcome my final baby into the world, closing this chapter with deep gratitude for every family I've had the privilege to care for. While I'll miss the joy of delivering babies, I'm excited about dedicating my expertise entirely to gynaecological care and fertility medicine moving forward.

To those who've shared their birth stories with me, to the families who've become part of my journey and to the patients who've trusted me with their health over the years - thank you. Your kind words mean everything.

I look forward to continuing to serve the Sunshine Coast community through comprehensive gynaecological treatments and helping more people navigate their fertility journeys with the specialist care they deserve.

Finding the right contraception for you is something Dr George can help with. From longer-acting options like IUDs and implants to shorter-term options - every woman's contraceptive needs are different.

Some women prefer a method they don't have to think about for years. Others want more flexibility to change their approach as life changes. There's no single "best" option - just what works best for you, your body and your lifestyle right now.

For women who experience heavy or painful periods, hormonal options like the IUD or pill can offer relief alongside contraception. If you prefer non-hormonal protection, the copper IUD is an option.

Dr George offers comprehensive contraceptive consultations at his Buderim practice, discussing all your options to find what fits your needs.

After more than 25 years caring for women on the Sunshine Coast and surrounding areas, Dr George understands how menopause can feel isolating. Menopause symptoms are real & matter. These can include hot flushes, sleep disruption and mood changes.

The good news? There are evidence-based treatments that can help. Hormone therapy isn't right for everyone, but for many women it can significantly improve quality of life when started at the right time.

If you're struggling with menopause symptoms, don't suffer in silence. Book a time with our friendly reception staff and let's discuss what options might work for you.

According to Endometriosis Australia, 1 in 7 people with ovaries are affected by endometriosis. It takes an average of 6.5 years to be diagnosed and over 830,000 individuals are living with endometriosis in Australia.

People with endometriosis may experience symptoms like recurring period and/or pelvic pain and pain during in*******se or irregular bleeding/spotting.

However, some people with endometriosis may experience no symptoms at all, and only discover they have this condition when they experience difficulty trying to conceive, or during a routine surgery.

It is important to know that period pain that impacts your day-to-day functioning is never normal. Please see a medical professional if you are experiencing any of these symptoms.

Dr George can help you get a diagnosis and can support you with the ongoing management of your condition. If you have endometriosis and wish to conceive, he can work with you to develop a personalised fertility treatment plan. 🌸
