I had everything I needed for a cosy and comfortable getaway. The spacious lounge and fireplace were perfect for curling up on chilly nights, while the fully equipped kitchen — complete with a coffee machine for those morning balcony brews and even a bread maker — added thoughtful touches that made the stay feel special. (Baking my own fresh bread was such a fun bonus!)
The highlight of the cottage was, without a doubt, the outdoor bath an idyllic spot to soak, unwind, and take in the serene natural surroundings. I also appreciated the little luxuries, like the soft robes and slippers, which made the experience feel even more indulgent.
Beyond the cottage, the property offers plenty to explore. I loved wandering through the forest trails and visiting the pavilion overlooking the water, a magical place to enjoy a glass of wine at sunset. Guests can also hire e-bikes to explore the grounds or take advantage of the on-site wellness facilities, including a gym and a heated magnesium pool. I joined an aqua cycling class — such a fun and energising experience!
While there’s plenty to enjoy on the property, it’s also perfectly located near Daylesford and Trentham, where you’ll find countless picturesque spots to discover. During my visit, I explored Wombat Hill Gardens for a peaceful stroll, Lake Daylesford for its tranquil beauty, and Sailors Falls, a scenic waterfall tucked within a lush gully.
My stay at 17 Pounds was truly peaceful and restorative — the perfect blend of comfort, nature, and wellness. I left feeling completely refreshed and would highly recommend it for a self-care getaway or a relaxing retreat with your partner or friends.
