Want a free dopamine & serotonin bump? Try moving your body for 30mins. Whether it's walking, dancing in your lounge room or singing energetically in your car, doing some housework ( 😞 ) or stretching, it's just about moving your body & getting your heart rate up. I often do different types of things depending on whether I'm working out for my body or my mental health. If its for my mental health I think about where my stress is being held in my body (for me it's usually my belly or chest) & I'll stop my exercise & put my hand on that spot & take a few slow deep breaths, noticing how that part my feel different each time. I'll also stop a few times & lift my arms up & out & breathe, taking note of where I am & how grateful I am to be there. I find adding these few intentional things into my Moving My Body Time, helps my brain & body regulate easier.
