ABOUT THE THERAPIST: Bec Filliponi is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, consultant, trainer, supervisor and speaker with over 11 years experience working with children, adolescents, adults and professionals. Bec specialises in innovative therapies, is EMDR Trained & an Accredited Animal Assisted Psychotherapist alongside Tilly the Therapy Dog. She has a degree in Psychology, Human Resourc

e Management and Sociology, a degree in Social Work & a Graduate Certificate in Developmental Trauma. Bec has published academic journal articles in the field of social work, is the author of childrens therapeutic story books, therapeutic art journals & has created numerous therapeutic group programs around violence prevention, early intervtion and recovery. Bec values dignity, accessiblity and evidence-based knowledge in her work and specialises in trauma, regulation, mental health, child sexual exploitation, sexual assault, parenting, emotional connection and somatic processing.

The BF-TS Story

Bec Filliponi is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, with a degree in Psychology, Social Work and a Graduate Certificate in Developmental Trauma. Bec has been supporting children, young people and adults in Melbourneā€™s Eastern suburbs since 2011 and specialises in trauma, mental health, parenting, emotional connection and somatic therapies. In 2018 Bec and her then 6 month old Labradoodle Tilly, were certified in Animal Assisted Psychotherapy. Bec is passionate about childrenā€™s well-being and supporting individuals and families within the Yarra Valley in innovative ways. In 2019 Bec started a private practice to create accessible, targeted, creative support services for children youth, adults and families, including therapeutic groups, parenting groups and counselling. Bec is always looking at innovative and creative ways to meet peopleā€™s needs through individual work or partnerships.
