We saw our 4th positive MARCoNS test within 3 weeks today. MARCoNS are an antibiotic-resistant form of staph found within the nasal cavity that can lead to an infection, overgrowth, and chronic health issues, including symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), fibromyalgia, multiple chemical sensitivity, chronic L!me disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), lupus, and other autoimmune conditions. MARCoNS may also play a role in Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS).
For these 4 patients, the most pressing symptoms they presented with was chronic sinusitis & fatigue.
Though MARCoNS can present similar to various chronic health issues, including fibromyalgia and autoimmune conditions. Symptoms of MARCoNS may include:
- Persistent Cough
- Fatigue
- Difficulty focusing and concentrating
- Memory issues
- Brain fog
- Headaches or migraines
- Joint pain
- Stiffness in the morning
- Facial and/or sinus pain
- Sinus congestion
- Tearing of the eyes
- Red eyes
- Sensitivity to eyes
- Shortness of breath
- Night sweats
- Temperature dysregulation
As the name suggests, antibiotic resistant infections are a bu**er to treat. Most antibiotics prescribed for their persistent sinusitis, only made the bacteria biofilm stronger and more resistant.
The good news is that with the right treatment approach, we can eradicate the infection, without causing the residual damage that recurrent rounds of antibiotics do and have these patients feeling better again short term but long term save them a lifetime of medical issues 🙏
