For some people, exercise environments can feel overwhelming rather than supportive.

Bright lights, noise, movement, and constant stimulation can quickly add up.

Making it harder to feel settled, focused, or comfortable enough to move.

When that happens, the body shifts into a protective response, which might look like withdrawal, restlessness or fatigue.

At BoDI we recognise these signs and adjust the environment and approach to support each individual.

Health isn’t one-size-fits-all.

This World Health Day, we’re reminded that wellbeing is about more than just exercise.

It’s about feeling supported, understood, and able to move in a way that suits your body and your life.

It’s officially Parkinson’s Awareness Month 🧠

🧬 Parkinson’s is a progressive, degenerative condition of the central nervous system.

🧬 Parkinson’s is more prevalent than many common cancers – including prostate, breast, colorectal, and lung cancers in Australians over the age of 50.

🧬 Parkinson’s affects people of all ages. The reality is that 5 Australians under 40 are diagnosed every day.

We’ll be sharing more about Parkinson’s throughout the month, to help spread awareness. Follow us now to keep up to date!

We still remember Louise’s first day.

Exercise wasn’t something she was excited about, but being Louise, she showed up and gave it a go… and she hasn’t stopped since.

Today she received her BoDI tee!

A small thank you for 10 years of showing up, putting in the effort and being such a valued part of the community.

It is with such sadness that I write this post. Last Thursday, we lost one of our most dearest friends, Liz.
Liz was one of the special ones. One of those people that brightened everyone's day. When she asked you a question, she wanted to know the answer. When she spoke to you, she spoke from the heart.
Liz was always so enthusiastic about changes at BoDI. She was honest whilst at the same time such a cheerleader for any decisions I made. She had faith that I knew what I was doing, even if I didn't.
I am so grateful that she popped in last Wednesday for the obligatory photo and cuddle.
It won't be the same without you Liz. 22 years you have been filling my life with laughter, stories and Whittakers chocolate.
You made the most of these past few years. Filling your time with love, family adventures and friends.
Thank you for including us in those moments ###

To celebrate the life of our dear friend Liz, BoDI will be closed Monday 30th March from 1130am. Liz will be remembered at Parson in Bulli at midday. We will reopen Tuesday as normal.

We see this daily. People don't just come to see us, they come for community engagement, participating and strengthening that social arm that too often is an after thought in the world of ppl with disabilities.

From all those ppl that struggled through COVID lockdowns BC they were so isolated, imagine that was your everyday.

When you have no choice, being stuck at home, isolated from the world, waiting for assistance to take you to your doctor's apt, hair apt, supermarket, pharmacist, etc, is not a blessing in disguise to remove stress, it is the stress.

Have conversations, educate yourself and then you might realise the day to day of going to a movie might actually be a supreme luxury for someone on the NDIS.

Maybe some politicians could live a week in these peoples shoes to start understanding rather than judging.

Movement should feel safe, supported, and achievable for everyone.

For many people with autism, the exercise environment itself can feel overwhelming.
From noise and lighting to unpredictability and pace.

These factors can impact how the body responds, making it harder to engage in movement comfortably.

At BoDI we take a considered, individual approach. By understanding sensory load and creating calm, predictable spaces.

Because when someone feels safe, movement becomes more accessible.

We’ve shared more in our latest blog - click the link in bio.

Happiness doesn’t always come from big milestones.

Sometimes it’s the simple things:

😁Moving your body
😁Sharing a laugh
😁Being surrounded by people who support you.

At Body Dynamics, we see these moments every day. They’re what make this community so special.

Happy International Happiness Day!

It’s safe to say it’s always a good day when Mary’s in the studio.

Mary always walks in with a smile, checking in on her exercise mates and ready for a good laugh along the way.

Today she received her BoDI shirt! A small thank you for 10 years of dedication, consistency and being such a valued part of the community.

We’re so lucky to have you with us, Mary.
