It’s a time to celebrate neurodiversity, promote understanding and support inclusion in our community.

Autistic people experience the world in different ways - and those differences are an important part of who they are. Building awareness helps create a more supportive and inclusive environment for everyone.

✨ Welcome to Bulli Medical Practice, Dr Priya Goyal!
We’re excited to welcome Dr Priya Goyal to the Bulli Medical Practice team.

Dr Priya graduated from the University of Melbourne’s postgraduate medical program in 2019, after completing an undergraduate degree in Medical Science at Western Sydney University. She also holds a Diploma in Children’s Health.

Dr Priya has special interests in:
• Women’s & Antenatal Health
• Children’s Health
• Sexual Health
• LGBTQIA+ Health
• Gender Affirming Care

Originally from Sydney, Priya moved to the Illawarra in 2025 and now lives locally with her husband and baby.

Easter Holiday Health Alert 🦟

If you’re planning to visit high‑risk areas in NSW for outdoor recreation over the Easter break, free Japanese Encephalitis (JE) vaccination may be available to you.
NSW Health has expanded free access to the JE vaccine following recent detection of the virus late in the mosquito season.

Japanese Encephalitis is a rare but serious illness spread by infected mosquitoes. While many people experience only mild symptoms, in some cases it can cause severe neurological illness, including headaches and seizures, and in rare cases permanent neurological impairment or death.

There is no specific treatment, so prevention is key — through insect bite avoidance and vaccination.

If you live or work in a high‑risk local government area, or are planning an outdoor trip, please contact BMP to make an appointment to discuss free vaccination options.
Please note:
- Free vaccines are provided by NSW Health
- Delivery to the surgery can take up to one week
- Plan ahead if you’re travelling over Easter
- This free vaccine is available until 1/6/26

🌙 World Sleep Day

The Possums / Neuroprotective Developmental Care approach recognises that infant sleep is highly variable and closely connected to feeding, sensory stimulation and connection with caregivers. Waking at night, feeding to sleep, contact naps and needing help to settle are all very normal in infancy.

Instead of focusing on training babies to sleep, this approach supports parents to work with their baby’s biology.
