When did you last have your pulse checked?

An estimated 500,000 Australians have atrial fibrillation (AF), the most common irregular heartbeat especially in those over 65 years old. Many people living with AF don't experience symptoms, which means you could be living with an underlying heart condition and not know about it.

It is thought that 30% of people with AF remain undiagnosed, increasing your risk of serious health complications such as a stroke or heart failure. Read more about AF and stroke prevention https://www.southwestcardiovascular.com.au/2023/06/21/atrial-fibrillation-and-stroke-prevention/

Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in Australia. Let's alter these statistics!

Heart disease is largely preventable. It's never too early to start taking small steps to care for your heart health.

Our cardiologists are passionate about their work, yet they would prefer not to have a reason to meet you. Follow their straightforward advice to stay out of the cardiologist's office.
