Living with chronic pain can be overwhelming.

Trigeminal neuralgia brings sudden, electric-shock sensations to the face that can make even simple things—like talking, eating, or smiling—feel hard.

Osteopathic treatment offers a gentle, hands-on way to help ease tension, calm irritated nerves, and support your overall wellbeing. It’s been rewarding to see patients in clinic experience meaningful relief.

If you or someone you know is living with facial pain, you’re not alone. These simple exercises, shared by one of my patients who’s found real relief, could be worth a try:

Last weekend Kamisha attended a professional development seminar focused on orofacial myology—a field that explores how the muscles of the face and mouth impact breathing, chewing, swallowing, and speech. ✨

This comprehensive foundation course was an exciting chance to deepen our knowledge and learn new ways to help people with concerns like jaw discomfort, tongue ties, or oral habits.

Kamisha is excited to bring these new skills into the clinic and support your health with the latest research and gentle techniques. 💙

Big thanks to for such an inspiring and practical training!

Hypermobility is often misunderstood - while some people celebrate being "naturally flexible," for others, joints that move beyond normal ranges can create unique challenges and discomfort.

✨ The science behind hypermobility and collagen
✨ How it affects your whole body - not just your joints
✨ Practical exercises and postural awareness techniques
✨ How osteopathic treatment can help prepare your body for movement

🌟 Neck Tension Causing Your Headaches? 🌟

Headaches from neck tension are incredibly common, and the good news is there are gentle ways to find relief! 💆‍♀️

The key is understanding that neck tension often has multiple contributing factors - tight shoulders, poor posture, or even stress can all play a role.

Here are 5 effective stretches with step-by-step instructions:

✨ Gentle Chin Retractions - Sit tall, gently draw your chin back (like making a double chin) while lengthening the back of your neck. Hold for 5 seconds, repeat 10 times.

✨ Side Neck Stretches - Sit upright, gently tilt your head to one side, bringing your ear toward your shoulder. Hold for 20-30 seconds each side. Keep shoulders relaxed and down.

✨ Upper Back Squeezes - Sit or stand tall, squeeze your shoulder blades together as if trying to hold a pencil between them. Hold for 5 seconds, repeat 10 times.

✨ Doorway Chest Stretches - Place your forearm against a doorframe, step forward gently until you feel a stretch across your chest. Hold for 30 seconds each arm.

✨ Gentle Jaw Releases - Place your tongue on the roof of your mouth, slowly open your jaw while keeping your tongue in place. Hold for 5 seconds, repeat 5 times.

Remember: Your body is connected! Sometimes the solution for neck tension isn't just in your neck - it might be in your posture, your breathing, or even how you're sleeping.

🎯 What exactly is dry needling and how can it help you?

Dry needling is a precise technique that targets trigger points in muscles to release tension and reduce pain. Unlike acupuncture, it's based on Western medicine principles and focuses specifically on musculoskeletal issues.

Here's what happens during treatment:
✨ Fine needles are inserted into tight muscle knots (trigger points)
✨ This helps release muscle tension and improve blood flow
✨ Pain signals are interrupted, providing relief
✨ Movement and function often improve immediately

Dry needling can be particularly effective for:
• Neck and shoulder tension
• Lower back pain
• Sports injuries and muscle strains
• Headaches caused by muscle tension
• Joint stiffness and restricted movement

The beauty of dry needling is that it works alongside your osteopathic treatment - addressing both the symptoms and underlying causes of your discomfort.

Emma-lee is skilled in dry needling techniques and combines this with her expertise in manual therapy to create comprehensive treatment plans.
