This song reminds me of a truly incredible man named Mr Spike Jones who dedicated many years to volunteering and looking after the gardens at Morrissey. He passed a few years ago but I know he is still Flying high with his Angel wings.

We recently held our annual staff development day. This is a day of teamwork, fun & learning and of course good food.
Some of the areas we covered were trauma awareness when delivering services, the Aged Care Act for workers, Quality Care Indicators, diversity, changes to legislation and much more.

We also had a great team building, hands on challenge, to go out into the community in groups and source free/found items to made meaningful activities suitable for people living with dementia.

Once again, our staff prove they shine bright, bringing a variety of amazing, insightful activities back and showcased them as a team to their colleagues.

Management attended the WA State Conference featuring a unique program designed specifically for aged care providers in Western Australia, bringing together professionals from across the sector.
While in Perth, we took the opportunity to visit various funded respite facilities and secured upcoming training & cert 1V Dementia Champion with Alzheimer's Australia for our staff.
