Thank you to the brave speakers who so openly shared their experiences at this morning’s Palliative Care WA Annual Sector Breakfast as part of National Palliative Care Week 2026.
Hearing both the negative and positive stories surrounding end-of-life care was incredibly thought provoking, and a reminder of how deeply these experiences can shape grief for families and loved ones. Simple acts of compassion and kindness go far. Several members of our team attended the Bunbury satellite breakfast and came away with a reinforced understanding of how much their work, words and action matters. 🧡

Mother’s Day brings joy for many, but heartache for others. Today, we honour all mums and mother figures. Those still with us and those we miss deeply. We also think of the mothers who carry the pain of losing a child. If today feels heavy, be kind to yourself and treasure the memories. 💐

We’re incredibly proud to see our beautiful 1948 Packard Hearse now on display at the Bunbury Geographe Motor Museum for the next six months. Originally converted from a sedan into a hearse by Campbell and Mannix Body Builders in Perth in 1948, the Packard served families throughout the South West for many years before being fully refurbished and returned to active service with William Barrett & Sons in 1997. Powered by a 7.5 litre straight-eight cylinder engine, this 2.5 tonne vehicle remains a truly special piece of local and automotive history. While the Packard is now proudly on display for the community to enjoy, it is still very much part of our working fleet and can continue to be made available for funeral services when requested. If you visit the museum over the coming months, be sure to stop by and admire this elegant and iconic vehicle.

We feel privileged to help families create farewells that truly reflect the unique life of their loved one. Today we share a beautiful example.
In March, well-known Manjimup local Jack Giacomel was farewelled in true Jack style. Hundreds gathered at Tall Timbers Brew Pub, dressed in bright Hawaiian shirts, with no black in sight. His coffin was in sync with the theme and reflected his appreciation of beer. It was a sad goodbye, but also a meaningful and personal celebration of a life lived with colour, warmth and character. A reminder that a farewell can be as unique as the person it honours. As we like to say around here, "It's Your Funeral" and Jack's certainly proved that!

A touching article about a family we adore. Sarsha is a well known Celebrant and funeral consultant. Lane is her brave and wonderful son. As Sarsha states, the impact of organ donation became profoundly real when it directly affected her family.
“I have always been a registered organ donor – however I now realise how important it is to speak to your loved ones to let them know your wishes,” she said.

As the WA hockey community gears up for the Lizzie Watkins Organ Donor Round this weekend, for one member of that community, the round represents far more than another set of fixtures.

Looking forward to a special night for this incredible cause. 👖💎

Today, we’re reminded what a privilege it is to hear the stories of those who have served their country. As funeral directors, we are often entrusted with preserving and sharing those stories.
On Anzac Day, we pause to honour all ex-service people and those who continue to serve. We must ensure their stories are never forgotten.

We will remember them.

A little reminder.

Did you know?
We support as much, or as little, family involvement as you feel comfortable with after the death of a loved one.
We can take care of everything, including arrangements, mortuary care and the extensive paperwork and applications required or we can support you to take charge.
Some families choose to bring their loved one home. We can assist with this by offering embalming, or alternatively a cooling cuddle blanket if embalming isn’t preferred. Our experienced mortuary team remains available to answer questions and provide guidance at any time. Within our care centre, we also offer a private space where families can spend time with their loved one, helping to dress them, do their hair or simply sit together. For those who need it, we can arrange swipe card access, including overnight visits, to support cultural or personal needs.
For others and for several circumstances, less involvement feels right and that’s completely okay too.
We’ll always take your lead.

An incredible event that we’re proud to enjoy each year. Well done to all the dedicated organisers. 👏

🎉 The results are in – and what an incredible achievement! 🎉

To all our supporters, sponsors and volunteers — THANK YOU. What a truly fantastic effort for the benefit of our Busselton Hospice Care Incorporated community. 💙

A very special thank you to the Busselton Golf Club for the use of their beautifully prepared course, and to the Busselton Golf Club staff who once again helped make this event such a successful and enjoyable fundraiser. ⛳️

Over 23 years, this amazing collective effort has now raised more than $795,000 — just over $45,000 in 2026 - an outstanding milestone that reflects the generosity, commitment and community spirit of everyone involved.

We couldn’t do this without you, and we already can’t wait to do it all again in 2027!
