Let’s talk about something most of us love to ignore - REST.

🙋‍♀️ Don’t worry - I’m guilty of this too.

When we attach our self-worth to our productivity, we start to worship (and prioritise) the grind. Then we keep pushing until something snaps… and often, it’s our adrenals taking the hit.

Our adrenal glands (which sit like little hats on top of our kidneys) work flat out to produce hormones that help us control stress, metabolism, blood pressure, and immune response.

But when we push ourselves into overdrive, and bully these poor little glands into keeping us going, they’re eventually going to start waving the white flag of burnout.

I know mine are in the bunker ripping up sheets and tying them to sticks right now.

When we ignore the signs of fatigue and keep pushing, here’s what happens:

🪫 Exhaustion that even a month of sleep can’t fix.

🪫Brain fog that has us forgetting what day it is.

🪫Cravings for sugar, salt, and caffeine just to keep going.

🪫Feeling like you’re on an emotional rollercoaster.

🪫Weakened immune system (which makes you a walking invitation for every bug in town).

If we keep pushing past these signals, we’re setting ourselves up for long-term impacts:

⚠️ Chronic stress that disrupts every part of our health. And I mean EVERY part!

⚠️ Anxiety and depression becoming more frequent visitors. Not always - but our thinking heads more for catastrophe than calm.

⚠️ Weight gain that’s harder and harder to shake because, let’s face it - you’re too F*CKING EXHAUSTED to chop veggies or head out for a walk.

⚠️ Digestive issues (yep, your stomach’s feeling it too).

⚠️ An overall drop in resilience, motivation, and patience. Don’t we know it!!

So let’s cut the crap and start staring down how we’re our own worst enemy at times. It’s not the workplace, your business, your kids or other people’s demands that are the problem, it’s our lack of boundaries that makes them one.

If you’re not valuing yourself, you’re teaching other people not to value you either.

So, let’s make a pact.

Instead of treating rest like it’s a luxury or something we need to earn, let’s make it a priority.

Recharge before you need to - so you don’t have to try and rebuild from burnout later.

Your adrenal glands will thank you.

So will your sleep, your metabolism, your bowels, your mojo, your brain, your overall health, your self-worth and your joy.

Here’s how I’m doing it.

I have gone into my calendar and have blocked out 12pm - 2pm every day so I can work in the background of my business - catch-up on stuff and lessen the pace. It’s not gonna happen every day, as I run a fair bit of training - but even if it pans out twice a week it’s still going to make a difference.

What small step are you prepared to take consistently to stop your health and your emotions pulling rank on you?

Ever wondered why it’s so hard to change the beliefs you have about your worth? The answer may surprise you, because it’s so simple.

The resistance you feel around trying to adopt new, better beliefs is simply because the s**tty ones are just more familiar. You repeat them so often, they feel natural - and if they feel natural they must be true, yeah?

Yeah, nah!

Easy does not mean it’s a fact, it simply means it’s a habit.

Your beliefs are a bit (or a lot) like your underwear.

Have you noticed that when you get dressed, without realising, you put the same foot into your un**es first?

Does that mean it’s the right foot to put in first? No, it’s simply the most natural foot to put in first.

A belief is exactly the same, and those that feel familiar, feel easier, so you’ve gone and decided that means they’re true.

Here’s you, thinking all these crap thoughts about yourself, and as you stomp your braincells along them, you wear down a path so smooth, that by default, it just becomes the easier one to take.

Changing that belief and believing something better, is only difficult because it doesn’t feel natural. Like trying to make your way through dense jungle. No wonder your mind reverts to “f**k this s**t” and jumps back to the smooth path.

Could it be time to take, or better still, make another one?

There are loads of ways to do that, that DON’T need you to suddenly start believing you’re “all that”. Let’s be real, if you try, your motivation will pop its clogs.

Realise it might be tough going as you find your way. But you can do hard things - I mean, s**t - annihilating yourself every day ain’t exactly floating on a sun lounge in the Maldives.

Don’t try to turn that dense jungle into a smooth path in a day, and remember, hard doesn’t mean wrong - just slow down and take smaller steps.

The thoughts you choose, determine your path. Try this one when resistance throws rocks at you.

It’s not hard, it’s just new.

I’m happy to teach you how I did it (and how to dodge Sabotage Sh*tsville).

www.RebootYourLife.com.au then “book” to choose how you’d like me to guide you.

Once you’ve tried putting your un**es on, other foot first 😂

A great reminder on why magnesium is good for a better night sleep

A great reminder on why magnesium is good for a better night sleep

We wanted to clear up a common misconception we’ve heard a lot lately!

🚫 MYTH: Spraying magnesium on the bottoms of your feet is the best way to improve sleep.

✅ FACT: While our feet are a great place to apply magnesium, the bottoms aren't always the most effective spot.

Why? Besides the mess factor, the bottoms of our feet have thicker skin and fewer pores, which can make it harder for magnesium to absorb effectively. Veins and arteries are also closer to the skin on the tops of our feet, which can enhance the effect magnesium has on the nervous system.

Similarly to soaking your feet in Epsom Salts, applying magnesium to the soles of your feet is effective in drawing out the toxins from the body. But for combating a deficiency and promoting more restful sleep, we recommend applying Magnesium to the tops of your feet, behind your knees and lower back instead ☁️

Sweet Dreams 😴

Yep

A few years ago, I met with the head of a massive pain clinic.

We got to talking about pain, which he agreed was a biopsychosocial problem - but admitted that his clinic *just* prescribes opioids. In fact, he'd recently been sued for OVERprescribing. 💊💊💊

🧠 Perplexed, I asked if he'd considered hiring any physical therapists, occupational therapists, pain psychologists, or trauma specialists. "No," he replied. "I don't, and I won't. You guys are too expensive." 😳😱

🩺 Healthcare providers are mandated to "do no harm." Our FIRST priority is supposed to be our patients, NOT profit. But some folks apparently never got that memo. For them, pain medicine is about 💰💸 -- not healing. 🤑🤮

🚨 Our profit-driven healthcare system is broken. ❌❌❌ Patients are often prevented from advocating because we lack sufficient pain education. The only way to fix this is to keep shouting & spreading the word... 📣📣📣
..AND 👏🏼 SO 👏🏼 WE 👏🏼 SHALL 👏🏼
Thank you for helping me 🙏🏼🙏🏼
