As part of the SunSmart campaign, this is a timely reminder to check the expiry date on your sunscreen before use.
Expired sunscreen may no longer be effective, leaving your skin vulnerable to the sun's harmful UV rays.
How to Check Your Sunscreen
π Look for the date: The expiry date is usually printed on the back, top, or bottom of the bottle or tube.
π Understand the symbols: Sometimes the date is a code, or there might be an "open jar" symbol (e.g., "12M") indicating it is effective for a certain number of months after opening.
πCheck consistency: If there is no clear date, or if the sunscreen has a strange smell, a yellow tint, or a change in consistency (e.g., grainy or liquidy), discard it and buy a new product.
πStorage matters: To help the product remain stable, store it below 30Β°C and out of direct sunlight. Avoid leaving it in hot places like a car glove box.
