We’re excited to officially introduce Yuna, our newly appointed Pharmacist at Southwest Hospital Pharmacy.

After graduating from UWA with a Master of Pharmacy in December 2024, Yuna joined us as an intern in January 2025. Over the past year she has become an integral part of our team, and in January 2026 she officially became a permanent member of our team.

Yuna has a strong interest in compounding and oncology, areas where precision, safety and patient-centred care are essential. Her passion for pharmacy started at a young age, driven by a desire to work in the medical field and help people. Today, she values the opportunity to support patients throughout their health journey and ensure the safe and effective use of medicines.

We’re proud to support emerging healthcare professionals and even prouder to have Yuna as part of our team.

Our director, Leah Webb recently met with Federal Member for Forrest, Ben Small, to discuss an important issue for our region, access to cancer medicines.

The conversation highlighted the vital role specialist chemotherapy pharmacists play in clinical, patient-facing settings, and the often unseen complexity involved in preparing individualised, time-sensitive treatments.

At SouthWest Hospital Pharmacy, we are proud to advocate for safe, accessible cancer care for the Bunbury community and beyond.

Whether you’re working outside, heading off on a bushwalk, or spending long days at the beach, it's important to stay sun smart and hazard-aware.

From insect bites and heatstroke to dehydration and skin damage, even a short time outdoors in Bunbury’s summer heat can take a toll.

At SWHP, we’re here to help. Our team can recommend sun safety essentials, first aid items, and preventative health advice to keep you protected and prepared whatever your summer plans look like.

Not every treatment is readily available in Australia but that doesn’t mean you’re out of options.

At SouthWest Hospital Pharmacy, we support patients through the Special Access Scheme (SAS), helping source medicines uapproved for marketing when no suitable registered alternatives exist. Whether it’s a rare condition or a treatment that’s been discontinued locally, we work closely with your doctor and importers to find what’s needed.

If your GP has recommended a medicine that isn’t on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG), speak to our pharmacy team about how the SAS may apply to your case.

As Term 1 gets underway, it’s common for children to pick up coughs and other infections when they’re around lots of peers again. Schools and childcare settings are environments where bugs can spread quickly.

✔︎ Vaccination advice to protect against illness
✔︎ Asthma relief and inhaler advice for kids with reactive airways
✔︎ Medication reviews to make sure treatments are safe and effective
✔︎ Friendly, evidence‑based advice on when to see a GP or keep your child at home

Stop by or speak to our team if you have questions about keeping your children well this school year.
