Many medications lose effectiveness or become unstable when exposed to high temperatures.

High temperatures can break down the active ingredients in things like tablets, inhalers, hormone patches, insulin, and EpiPens. That includes leaving them in the car, a steamy bathroom, or a warm cupboard. This can result in your medication no longer being effective.

Watch out for clumping or crumbling tablets, faded patches or discoloured liquids. Store your meds in a cool, dry place, ideally below 25°C and never leave them in a car.

On 25 November 1895, eight Sisters of St John of God arrived in Perth from Ireland and began providing much needed healthcare services during WA's gold rush
