Well this is a common discussion in marriage therapy. So many times the task has been to "ban s*x" (haha) for couples with this exact issue. And guess what... intimacy returns.... and so does the s*x. We like Jimmy's explanation too though.

Do you have a story to share about the intersection of sport and mental health?

WA Mental Health and WA Community Change Group Inc. are inviting expressions of interest from players, coaches, support staff, and advocates to speak at our upcoming Mind Over Matter: Sport & Mental Health Symposium — happening Friday 24 October 2025 in Bunbury, Western Australia.

This unique evening brings together sporting clubs, health professionals, families and young people for an honest, empowering, and hope-filled conversation about how sport can both support and challenge mental health—especially at the elite and community level.

✅ Have personal or professional experiences linking sport and mental wellbeing
✅ Are passionate about breaking down stigma and encouraging real conversations
✅ Can speak authentically to the pressures, the passion, and the power of sport

Whether you’re a former or current athlete, coach, psychologist, peer supporter or wellbeing coordinator—your voice could help shape a powerful night of reflection, connection and change.

Event Format:
🟨 3-course dinner event
🟨 Short keynote reflections from 4 speakers
🟨 Relaxed panel discussion with audience Q&A
🟨 150–200 attendees including sports clubs, health workers, and young athletes

Let’s come together to inspire, educate and make mental health part of every sporting conversation. 💬🧠💛

This NAIDOC Week, we’re reminded that true inclusion is only possible when diversity is embraced.

At WA Mental Health, we believe that being inclusive isn’t just about welcoming others into our spaces—it’s about actively making space for others. That means amplifying First Nations voices, respecting cultural knowledge, and ensuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are not just acknowledged, but genuinely valued in every workplace and community.

Importantly, inclusion isn’t unique to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples—it matters for everyone. Across countries, cultures, language groups, (dis)abilities, age, gender, s*xuality and more. Inclusion must be intersectional, ongoing, and woven into the way we lead, relate and work together.

We’re proud of our history in this space, with team members from all walks of life. And I want to be clear—this wasn’t a gift we gave to others. It was always a blessing bestowed on us. As we learned, grew, and developed as people, practitioners, and friends.

Cultural safety is not a box to tick—it’s foundational to mental wellbeing. When our workplaces are both diverse and inclusive, we create environments where everyone can feel safe, seen, and heard.

So this week, we invite you to reflect:
👉 Is your workplace truly inclusive, or just comfortable for those who already belong?

Let’s move beyond words.
Let’s listen, learn—and act.
