At Serenity, the safety and wellbeing of our participants is our highest priority.

With the growing number of independent support workers in the community, we believe it’s more important than ever for families to feel confident in who is providing care and support.

Not all providers operate under the same standards—and we encourage everyone to take the time to review the qualifications, checks, and safeguards of anyone delivering support services.

At Serenity, all of our staff:
✔ Hold current Police Checks
✔ Maintain valid Working with Children & Worker Screening Cards
✔ Have relevant qualifications and/or industry experience
✔ Are appropriately insured
✔ Participate in ongoing training and professional development

Most importantly, we can provide evidence of all required checks and credentials for your peace of mind.

We believe transparency builds trust, and families deserve to feel safe, informed, and supported in every decision they make.

Blue card suspensions making Queensland children safer 🚨

Almost 550 blue and exemption cards have been suspended since 28 February 2026 under strengthened powers, ensuring stronger protections for children across the state.

The suspensions are the direct result of the new powers introduced in September 2025, which have enabled Blue Card Services to take immediate action to prevent individuals from working with children where a risk to the safety of children is identified.

This action is part of our plan to make Queensland safer.

We’re excited to share that our Easter Arts & Crafts day was a massive success! 🐰🌼
Our wonderful participants got creative, connected, and had lots of laughs along the way. Here’s a little look at all the amazing activities we enjoyed:

💌 Making Custom Easter Cards

🌟 What a Wonderful Day at Park Day! 🌟

We’re thrilled to share that our recent Park Day was a HUGE success! 🎉🌳

Our amazing participants had a fantastic time enjoying a day full of fun, learning, and connection. Here’s a glimpse of the activities we shared together:

🥙 Healthy Lunch Time – A delicious spread of wraps and homemade banana cake! 🍌🍰

Nutritious meals are not just delicious; they support healthy living and help with energy and wellbeing, promoting overall physical health and wellness.

🤸‍♂️ Play and Interaction on the Park Equipment – So much fun! 🌞

Playtime fosters gross motor skills development, building strength and coordination. It also encourages social interaction among participants, supporting their emotional and mental wellbeing.

🦓 Learning About Animals at the Zoo 🦒

Engaging with animals helps to develop communication skills and provides valuable opportunities for learning about nature and environmental awareness.

🐒 Meeting the Curator and Feeding the Monkeys 🍃

An exciting chance to interact with professionals, building skills in following instructions, engagement, and boosting self-esteem. Participants also gained insights into animal care and curatorial roles, sparking interest in new fields and passions!

🎲🎮 Serenity Games Day – Fun at the Office! 🃏🎨

Join us on Thursday, 17th April 2025 at the Serenity Office for a Games Day filled with Board Games, Card Games, and Video Games! 🕹♟🎉

📅 Schedule:

🚐 Pickups from: 10:00 AM
📍 Location: Serenity Office
🎲 Board Games, Card Games & Video Games
🎨 Finish off any Easter Crafts from last Monday
🥪 Lunch together (BYO packed lunch)
🏡 Drop-offs at: 2:00 PM

💰 Non-participants (friends & family) are welcome for a cost of $20.

🚫 Please note: There will be no opportunity to purchase food or drinks, so bring everything you need for lunch.
