If you have worried that you might have said or done something that is either accidentally rude😅, or perhaps you are just feeling confused about where all this ADHD and Autism is coming from? 🤔
I want to hear👂 YOUR questions, even the ones you are afraid to ask🙊, because the only way you can understand or be affirming of people with brain based differences is to ASK.🗣
There's nothing wrong with curiosity, its how we learn. And who knows, maybe, your question makes all the difference for someone. 🌈🧠

*Note I will be deleting anything that is written with malice, or offensive statements. This is a place for questions ❔and understanding not hate 🤬or discrimination.

Its called Masking 🎭
and it can have some pretty big consequences for Neurodivergent people. ♾️
Most people would know the feeling of having to put on a mask for a job interview, a social event or even the family reunion, but for ND folk, its not just about masking occassionally, but about masking the things that make you, you.
It's about hiding the traits that are part of how you show up in the world 🌏
And some of us get so good at it, that we don't even notice that we are doing it. (hi🙋🏼‍♀️ its me!) at the cost of our mental and physical health and burnout.
It's why for some of us the weekend isn't just about relaxing or having fun, its an essential reset in order to go back out into the world that wasn't built for you.

Guarantee you will know someone who has a Neurodivergent brain,🧠🌈 maybe you don't know it, heck maybe you're like me and you didn't know it was your brain! but knowing some of the ways you can support the people in your world that have brain based differences can go such a long way!

🌈We might not be able to be social - it's not personal!

🌈When planning - consider the sensory environment so that it is less likely to be overwhelming

🌈Let us Stim, it can include a whole stack of different ways to help us regulate, think fidgets, moving our body, not making eye contact

🌈Meltdowns, sometimes they happen, and trust me, its not comfortable! so support us to be compassionate and kind to ourselves.

Considering even one of these things, is a great start to being more neuroaffirming and inclusive, and that makes all the difference, So thankyou!✨
