A big milestone for our team 🌱

This past week we officially moved to our new commercial office space.

What started as a vision to create support services grounded in understanding, advocacy, and lived experience has continued to grow into something bigger than I imagined.

This new space gives us room to better support our participants, families, and team — with dedicated meeting spaces, improved accessibility, and a place to continue building meaningful connections.

As part of this growth, we’ve also welcomed new team members and expanded our roles to include:
✨ Compliance and Intake Officer
✨ Finance Officer
✨ New Support Coordinators & Recovery Coaches

These changes strengthen what happens behind the scenes, allowing us to keep delivering quality support while growing sustainably.

To everyone who has trusted us, referred to us, worked alongside us, or cheered us on — thank you. We’re proud of what is being built here and excited for what comes next.

Here's a happy snap from moving day!

There’s a lot of noise right now about Budget and NDIS changes.
It can feel confusing — and even a bit overwhelming.

Here’s what’s important to know:
⚡️ Some changes are already starting
⚡️ Others will roll out over time
⚡️ Many details are still becoming clearer

We’ve created this visual to break things down in a way that feels easier to take in.

It’s okay to have questions.
It’s okay to need time to process.

Real talk: Life doesn't pause for plan dates

🧐 The NDIS keeps flagging the number of “unsheduled” plan reassessments as though participants are somehow overusing the system.

But when scheduled reassessments rarely seem to occur anymore, and plans are routinely rolled over for years at a time… what are people actually meant to do when life changes?

Because life does change.

Children grow. Disabilities fluctuate. Equipment breaks. Informal supports collapse. Housing changes. Health declines.

Participants can’t exactly put their lives on pause to fit a reporting metric.

So if scheduled reviews aren’t happening, of course people will need unscheduled reassessments.

That isn’t system misuse — that’s people responding to real changes in real life.

When the majority of plans are being extended over and over, a 20% reassessment rate honestly doesn’t sound all that dramatic.

How low is that number realistically expected to go? 🧐

Or should everyone just commit to never changing again? 🤦🏻‍♀️

A lovely moment from a recent visit 🌱💚

RR recently moved into her first SIL home after a significant life change and it has come with a lot of adjustment.

During times of transition, having familiar routines and meaningful activities can make such a difference. Gardening has always been something RR enjoys, so it has been really nice to see her continue this passion in an accessible way with her raised veggie pod.

Today I got to see her newly planted lettuce and silverbeet settling into their new home too 🥬

Sometimes it’s the simple things that help create comfort, familiarity, and a sense of home during change.

Complex support needs require more than standard coordination.

Our Specialist Support Coordination (Support Coordination Level 3) service supports participants navigating higher-level complexity, risk, advocacy, and multiple service systems including housing, health, mental health, justice, and NDIS.

Backed by professional knowledge and lived experience, we understand that navigating systems can feel overwhelming.

This wasn’t just a puzzle 🧩

It was a plan check-in with plan nominees who are carrying a lot.

Piece by piece, we talked through supports…
and how much they’ve been holding on their own.

Because sometimes burnout isn’t failure—
it’s holding too many pieces, for too long.

You don’t have to do this alone.

A question we’re hearing a lot right now:
“Am I going to be kicked off the NDIS?”

The honest answer: no — not right now.

Most of the bigger changes (like new eligibility rules) aren’t coming in immediately — they’re being rolled out gradually over the next few years, with major changes expected closer to 2027–2028.

Right now, what’s happening is:
⚡️ Early changes to planning and processes
⚡️ More focus on how disability impacts daily life
⚡️Increased consistency in decisions

For people with permanent and significant disabilities, the scheme is still designed to support you.

We know the uncertainty feels heavy.

It’s okay to feel worried — but nothing is changing overnight 🤍

There’s a lot being said about the NDIS changes right now.
But underneath all the policy language, there are real people quietly asking:

“Will I still get support?”
“What happens to my child?”
“Do I have to prove how hard things really are… again?”

For many of us — especially those who are neurodivergent, living with trauma, or navigating complex mental health — this isn’t just reform. It feels like uncertainty, fear, and having to justify your reality over and over.

I’ve sat in that space.
Where your capacity fluctuates.
Where your needs aren’t always visible.
Where functioning on paper doesn’t match what it costs you to get through the day.

So if you’re feeling unsettled by these changes — that makes sense.
If you’re worried about access, supports, or what comes next — you’re not overreacting.

At the same time, information is power.

Understanding the shift toward functional evidence, tighter access, and more structured plans gives us a chance to prepare, advocate, and protect what matters.

You deserve support that reflects your real life — not just what can be easily measured.

If you need support, clarification, or help understanding how these changes might impact you or your family — please reach out. You don’t have to navigate this alone.

We’re going to keep talking about this.
We’re going to keep breaking it down.
And we’re going to keep making space for the voices that are often overlooked in systems like this.

In true AuDHDer fashion… I forgot to post for Neurodiversity Celebration Week.

This year’s theme is “From awareness to action: making organisational change.”

And honestly — this is the part that matters.

We aim to be a neuroaffirming workplace, where adjustments aren’t treated as special treatment or something “extra” — they’re part of how we work.

Knowing what I need and making those changes is one thing.

Learning what my team needs — listening, adapting, unlearning, and actually following through — is ongoing work. We don’t always get it perfect, but we are intentional about it.

So what does this mean for the people we support?

It means less fighting to be understood.
Less pressure to mask to be taken seriously.
More flexibility, built in — not negotiated.
More communication that adapts — not corrects.

Because when organisations move from awareness to action,
participants feel it.

In their safety.
In their trust.
In their outcomes.

And that’s what we’re working towards, every day.
