Important Updates: What's Changed with the NDIS in 2025 to date 🔔

The NDIS is evolving to create a fairer, more sustainable scheme. Here's what participants need to know moving into 2026:

✅ Clearer definitions of what NDIS supports cover
✅ New flexible budgets based on your support needs (from May 2025), this has seen some cuts through the changes to systems.
✅ Longer funding periods for more stability but with structured funding dates per block of funding.
✅ Better plan management with clearer guidelines (privacy and safety)
✅ Improved access decisions with transparent criteria

3 Simple Steps to Take Now:

1️⃣ Review your current plan – Check your budget tracking and note what's working well and what you may need to consider.
2️⃣ Book a chat with your Support Coordinator or Service Team to reach out to a LAC or NDIA – Discuss how changes affect your next plan review
3️⃣ Keep your goals updated – Document any changes in your needs or circumstances for your planning meeting and ensure accuracy and ongoing journals are recorded.

Your right to choice and control remains central but with greater analytics and spending metrics monitored and reviewed with the NDIA System changes. Questions? Contact your Support Coordinator or our team, to link you in with the right person, we're here to help you navigate these changes confidently.

For our participants and or their families.

This is a timely reminder to have your say. The attorney generals department, sits to the side of the NDIA like the ANAO, or Australian Governments Audit Department.

They are there be unbiased and ensure “voices are heard”.

If you need someone to assist you to put in your say. Please always remember there are those that can help. :).

Please check it out. Also, very timely reading if you wish to learn more about the “state of the NDIA” from Governments own Audits.

There’s still time to have your say on the Disability Discrimination Act Review. Consultation has been extended and will now close on Friday 14 November 2025. The Australian Government is seeking your views to make sure the Act works to protect people with disability.

The Attorney-General’s Department is seeking feedback from:
🔹 people with disability, their families and carers
🔹 disability organisations
🔹 service providers
🔹 employers
🔹 legal professionals
🔹 education providers
🔹 academics
🔹 the broader community.

Support is about enabling choice, control, and participation. It’s not just physical help—it’s emotional encouragement, skill-building, and creating safe environments where people can thrive. Under the NDIS, support is tailored to each person’s goals, whether that’s gaining independence, accessing the community, or building daily living skills.

Understanding support helps us build a more inclusive society.

Assistive technology in the bathroom can dramatically improve safety, comfort, and dignity for individuals with mobility or physical challenges.

From hand rails and walk-in tubs to non-slip mats and adaptive bathing tools, these solutions empower people to navigate daily routines with confidence.

Let’s continue to rise up for inclusive living. 💙

These words aren’t just ideals — they’re the everyday actions that shape how we show up for each other. Whether it’s through a quiet moment of understanding, a bold act of advocacy, or simply choosing kindness when it’s not the easiest option, these values guide how we build community, connection, and care.
They remind us that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported — not just sometimes, but always.

Let’s keep living these values out loud. 💛

Emotional regulation can look different for every child — especially those on the autism spectrum.
Understanding the less obvious signs of emotional dysregulation helps us respond with empathy, support, and appropriate strategies. 🧠

Some indicators may include:
🍽️ Changes in appetite
🎭 Overly silly or impulsive behaviour
🗣️ Speaking rapidly or struggling with decision-making
😅 Uncontrollable laughter or defiance

Recognising these signs early allows for more effective, person-centred support and promotes emotional wellbeing.
