This 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡, here's the reminder we want to lead with: asking for help is not giving up. It's choosing to keep going.

There's no neat threshold of struggle you have to meet before you "deserve" support. If today is hard, that is reason enough.

Our team works with participants at every stage of their mental health journey: from the very first phone call to the long, steady work of recovery. Whatever today looks like, we'll meet you there, at your own pace.

Today is 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 - a global day that started with a simple idea: the people who design and build digital tools (websites, apps, software) need to think about the more than 1 billion people worldwide who live with a disability.

The digital world wasn't always built with everyone in mind. But there's a lot of helpful tech out there that can make using your phone, computer and the internet easier - and most of it is already on the device in your hand.

Here are five things worth trying this week:

• Explore your accessibility settings. Open Settings → Accessibility on your phone. Larger text, screen readers, voice control and colour filters are all in there.

• Turn on captions everywhere. YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram and Zoom all have a caption setting. Switch it on once and it usually stays on.

• Let voice assistants help. Siri, Google Assistant and Alexa can send messages, set reminders and make calls - no typing needed.

• Ask for accessible formats. If a document or website doesn't work for you, ask for it another way: Easy Read, large print, audio, or a phone call.

• Share what works. Tell your coordinator, family or friends about apps that work well for you. Your experience helps others.

• Who is it for? - People with psychosocial disability or mental health support needs in their NDIS plan.

• How much does it cost? - It's fully funded through your NDIS plan at $80.90/hr on weekdays - no out-of-pocket costs.
