When you start to feel the overwhelm creep in, give this little exercise a try.
Find somewhere to sit, inside or out it doesn’t matter. Take five really deep breaths in and out. As you exhale, do so with force allowing the body to relax.
Once you have done that, continue to sit for a while naming what you see around you..
Tree, grass, green, sky, clouds, blue, white.
Chair, fan, table, vase, lounge
No matter where you are, if you allow your attention to be drawn to this exercise, you will reduce the tension, worry and stress.
5-10mins can have a massive improvement on your situation.
By naming objects you are bringing your attention to the present moment, giving yourself a focus other than that which is overwhelming you.. as a result you allow yourself to reset and better handle what you need to do 🙏🏻✨
