Finding your knee has been getting more painful? 🦴

Getting groin pain people thought was a hernia or from your back? Secret - it’s probably your hip🦵

Finding the things that you enjoy - beach walks 🏖️ golf ⛳️ lawn bowls, line dancing 💃, yoga 🧘 or any number of other activities are limited or causing aggravation?

Osteoarthritis of the knee and hip are exceptionally common, indeed nearly 850,000 Aussies have at least 1 joint replacement currently!

Why is it so common? We live a lot longer than our cartilage DNA had intended historically (thanks to modern medicine), and we live active lives enjoying activities and exploring the world resulting in wear and tear.

If this sounds like you, or a loved one - we may be able to help with both non surgical, and surgical options!

*staged big fella photo for emphasis 😂

🥶 As we move into the cooler months, arthritic joints will often start to become increasingly painful - a phenomenon due to the tissues of the joint. 🥶

If your hip or knee has been bothering you, or a loved one, we are always here to help 😊

Subspecialty Anterior Approach Total Hip Replacement, or 3D print Patient Matched Total Knee Replacement, may be exactly what the doctor orders 🤠

As many of you may know if you know me, my number one passion in this world is Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery. I know - I should get a hobby, don’t let your job define you etc etc BUT…I just love what I do and do what I love.

Well here I am in Singapore today, cultured beyond belief at the Gardens by the Bay, taking time to smell the flowers.

Family time, and a reset, at Easter is incredibly important.

From myself and mine - to you and yours - have a great and safe long weekend, with what family is to you.

After my ward round seeing my fantastic patients this morning, I’ve dropped to our hardworking nurses at the Friendly Society Private Hospital a whole load of avocado and macadamias to take home from my team at Town and Country Orthopaedics and I.

If you’ve got to work the Easter period - thank you for taking time from your family to support them.

Here I am giving a presentation at the QRMSC conference on the evidence based advantages of the Anterior Approach Hip Replacement.

Presenting up to date literature to health professionals is one of my favourite things in medicine. Having produced internationally published research, and presented around the world my research to colleagues, it feels a LOT less stressful to present it right here at home.

Thanks to all my peers and colleagues that attended to make it a great success!
This was more than just a meeting, this CONFERENCE was appreciated by the medical community and staff and developed networks and friendships!
We Look forward to the much updated and renovated QRMSC in 2027!

I’ve never done things by halves.
After over half a year planning, countless hours of meetings, proposals, submissions, and not to mention writing speeches, our conference has finished at the Bundaberg Multiplex!

The Queensland Regional Medical Specialty Conference inaugural year has come to a close, with an outstanding attendance by a vast array of health experts from across regional and rural QLD.

We had the Federal member for Hinkler David Batt MP give an extremely well received welcome for the morning from parliamentary sitting in Canberra, and the Mayor of Bundaberg Regional Council Helen Blackburn (pictured below) come and deliver a spectacular message to attendees considering a move to Bundaberg!

To our wonderful attendees, and to my great friends and conference committee Dr. Viranga Wijeyewickrema and Danielle Davies - we have done a fantastic job for our patients!

Thank you to all for supporting my vision!

The 2026 Queensland Regional Medical Specialty Conference has arrived! A huge thank you to all our sponsors and team - looking forward to a great day ahead.

I’ve spent more than 6 months outside a busy professional and family life, developing and building this concept, and couldn’t be more proud of what we have created. To my team Danielle Davies, and Dr Viranga Wijeyewickrema - thank you for all your help, encouragement and incredible tireless hours.

We hope this benefits regional and rural QLD well into the future!

Great evening The Reef Hotel Gladstone teaching Gladstone GP’s and Physiotherapists about Bakers cysts, and Trochanteric Pain Syndrome. These are two of the most common, but poorly taught clinical conditions any GP or Physio will be involved in seeing in their careers.

Excellent turnout for a Thursday evening, and the big fella gave them both barrels! Earned a cheeky black fish and a quick feed once I was done 🍺

Many thanks to all who attended, and I hope you left having a solid understanding and protocol driven paradigm of how best to manage your patients with these conditions!
