Our team from SA, Libby Chapman and Lyndal Cameron were proud to attend 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲, 𝐒𝐞𝐭, 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 – 𝐖𝐡𝐲𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚 last February 25, the first event of its kind for the region 👏

A key highlight was the opportunity to speak with Kerrynne Liddle, Federal Member of Parliament and Assistant Shadow Minister for Health and Aged Care, talking about:

• Access to support services across regional and remote communities
• The impact of recent parliamentary and policy changes
• The complexities for individuals navigating both aged care and disability systems

These important conversations really help strengthen regional networks and ensure community voices are heard. We’re proud to be part of the dialogue. 🤝

Sharing with you some of our client, Rob’s wonderful adventures with Matt, one of our support workers. Moments full of joy, discovery, and community.

When Matt first began supporting Rob, their time together started simply: getting to know each other, chatting about movies, sharing interests, and building trust. From there, those small moments grew into confidence, connection, and the excitement of getting out and about together.

Today, Rob and Matt’s outings are filled with laughter, familiar favourites, and new experiences across the community. What feels like two mates spending time together has opened the door to greater independence, more social opportunities, and many meaningful memories along the way.

Rob’s adventures were truly special, and our team at Kanda loves supporting journeys like these, where genuine relationships help our clients feel confident, included, and supported to live life on their terms. 💫

Together, they explored a variety of places, including:
• Scarborough Beach and The Outlook bar
• Mundaring Weir
• Tractor Museum
• Kings Park
• Perth Zoo
• Guildford Railway Museum
• John Forrest National Park
• Caversham Wildlife Park
• Terracotta Warriors
• Mandurah Giants

With the dedicated support of our DSW Matt Tame and our Kanda WA team, Rob was able to get out and about, embracing new experiences and making memories along the way. 🙌

Sharing with you some snaps of our productive day at the 𝐀𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 – 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐝𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞 event. ☀️

Our VIC Kanda team headed to the Matthew Flinders Hotel yesterday, February 18, to connect with the local NDIS community. It was a fantastic morning of collaboration between support coordinators, service providers and allied health.

We loved the fast-paced format, giving everyone the opportunity to connect, share insights and learn more about the supports available across the sector.

Thank you to everyone who spent a few minutes with the Kanda team. We look forward to continuing the conversations and strengthening relationships across the community. 🤝

In WA, Kanda’s service delivery is led by strong clinical oversight, not as an add-on, but as a core part of how we support clients. Our Regional Manager, Babs Smith, oversees all service delivery across the state and brings her background as a Registered Nurse to every level of decision-making.

With multiple layers of nursing oversight embedded throughout our team, we provide compassionate, clinically sound, and responsive support that adapts as client needs evolve. As a result, the teams coordinating daily care are equipped to make safe, informed decisions and communicate clearly with treating practitioners when needs shift.

This translates to responsive, well-coordinated care and better outcomes, delivered by a team that genuinely understands the health challenges they may be navigating.

We’re kicking off February with growth and impact!

Last 3rd – 5th of February, our L&D team empowered our CYF Residential Care Workers with comprehensive Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) Training, in our Townsville office.

The TCI Therapeutic Milieu is the combination of people, emotions, attitudes and environment that foster a strong sense of safety, respect, belonging, care and accountability for young people in care.

A key component of TCI is the Life Space Interview (LSI) — a supportive, youth-centred approach that helps young people reflect on their experiences, understand their emotions, and make positive choices. Through guided conversations, LSI strengthens emotional growth, resilience, and problem-solving skills.

We’re proud to continue building the capability of our teams to provide safe, therapeutic, and trauma-informed care that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of young people. 💙
