We really have the most beautiful patients and friends. The lovely Ebony gifted us two antique books from her recent travels - a Spectacles and Eyeglasses Manual and an Optical Dictionary, both published in 1904.

Inside one of the covers was a handwritten name and address:

Ella L. M. Pink
2 Martin Place, Sydney

We later learned that Ella L. M. Pink was actually one of the first women optometrists in Australia, at a time when women in trade were rare.

To hold a book once used by one of the earliest optometrists - someone who helped pave the way for modern eye care - feels truly special ✨
