💜 PURPLE DAY – Epilepsy Awareness 💜

Today we’re raising awareness for Purple Day and sharing important information about epilepsy.

Epilepsy is a neurological condition that causes recurring seizures. It can affect people of all ages, and with the right treatment and support, many people live full and active lives.

⚡ What does a seizure look like?
Seizures can vary. They may include:
• Uncontrollable jerking movements
• Staring spells or brief loss of awareness
• Sudden collapse
• Confusion after the event

🩺 Seizure First Aid – What To Do:
1️⃣ Stay calm and time the seizure
2️⃣ Protect from injury (move objects away)
3️⃣ Do not restrain the person
4️⃣ Do not put anything in their mouth
5️⃣ Roll them onto their side once the seizure stops

🚑 Call 000 if:
• The seizure lasts longer than 5 minutes
• Another seizure starts soon after
• It’s their first seizure
• They are injured or have trouble breathing
