Wowwwwwww……What a busy week prepping & getting ready for the Mt Perry show 🎉🎉

This will be our first BIG event for our Food/Coffee Van, Rollin’ Smoko and we are pretty excited to be part of it.🤩🤩

All our training, practice & preparation will be put to the test at tomorrow’s event. Although I feel we are confident and more then capable to take on this challenge.😁

We are currently recruiting our next intake of participants into the 8 week Food & Catering Van program.🍔🌭🥪🥗

This Innovative program is designed around Skill Development for NDIS participants by offering a safe, structured platform to learn what a work environment feels like and creates equal opportunities for all to gain skills within the Food Industry.🥧🥗🌮🫔

What you will need to be considered for the Food & Catering Van program:

🍔A passion or interest in Food
🍔A commitment to an 8 week program
🍔Enthusiastic about learning new skills
🍔A ‘Have a go’ attitude
🍔NDIS participant

Positive Steps Mentoring offers all training in

🍔Food Safety practices
🍔Barista training
🍔A Food Van with set locations to gain customer service experience
🍔Supportive trained staff to offer a fun, interactive learning experience.
🍔 Certificate 2 in Safe Food Handling on completion of the program.

Super proud of this young man who worked tirelessly alongside me helping with the ‘Flood Relief Clean Up’ in Gympie during the week☺️

We scrubbed layers of mud from bookshelves, hosed muddy chairs & took wheelbarrow loads of waterlogged books & carpet to the rubbish pile. It was hot, muddy & stinky work but not once did he complain as he knew he was lending a helping hand to a community that really needed it🙏

Today’s program was all about Food Safety practices and High standards of Personal Hygiene practices whilst working with food.🍔🥙🌭🥪🥖🥐🍗👨‍🍳👨‍🍳👨‍🍳👨‍🍳👨‍🍳
Even these lessons are created to be informative, interactive and fun learning for my budding chefs👨‍🍳👨‍🍳

We had a win today!!!😁😁😁👏👏👏
After addressing a complaint that had been made to council against our Food Van, Rollin’ Smoko for trading in a public space.
It was determined that we are allowed to be trading at our set location, in the industrial area in Gin Gin. 😁😁

This Food Van has a special purpose to offer people with a disability the opportunity to learn all aspects of running a mobile food venue.
Throughout the program participants learn about Food Safety practices, High Personal Hygiene standards, Food Prep & Handling, Eftpos training and an integral part of the program being Customer Service, so we can practice all we’ve learnt.

We are grateful for the support of fellow business owners such as Karhin, who offer us a location to set up our Food Van once a week.😁🙏

Signage is finally complete on our Food Van, ‘Rollin Smoko’👏👏👏🍔🍕🍟
