Today, Saturday 25 April, our communities across Australia are coming together to commemorate Anzac Day on the 111th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings. For many, this whole week has been about reflecting and honouring those who have served in times of peace and war.

We were lucky enough to sit down with several veterans in the lead up to today and are honoured to be sharing their stories of resilience, comradery and hope.

Gardening in small spaces🪴

Living in an apartment shouldn't hinder your ability to nurture your green thumb. This is exactly what residents and guests are invited to learn more about as Callisto Place prepares to host gardening guru Vasili Kanidiadis. Vasili brings his vast knowledge across the horticulture industry to give the audience simple and practical tips on getting their small garden started and sustaining it.

The free and interactive session will be held at Callisto Place on Wednesday 15 April from 10:30am to 12pm.

On this day in 1926 we opened Melbourne’s first after care home to provide transitional care for people of all ages after a hospital stay. MDNS President Jessie Henderson described the hospital as “a new expression of an old need”. Today, we’re still finding new ways to meet community needs, from our parenting, birth and baby telephone helpline to telehealth, home and community support and in our retirement villages and aged care homes.
