Your diagnosis gets you through the door but it is not what determines your funding 🤔

The NDIS funds what your disability prevents you from doing in daily life, not what you have been diagnosed with!

If your reports describe your condition but do not spell out the real life impact, that is why supports are getting knocked back even when the need is obvious 🫶

Ask every professional involved in your child’s care to document functional impact explicitly!

What they cannot do, what they need support with, what daily life actually looks like 👍

This is the stuff your planner will not volunteer and it could change everything about your next plan.

Neurotypical standards were not built for our neurotype and we stopped pretending otherwise a long time ago ⏰

We eat the same meals, wear the same clothes and live the same routines. Not because we’re boring, but because it works 🙌

Because it regulates our nervous systems and gives us enough predictability to actually get through the day ☀️

Families are thrown into NDIS planning meetings with no preparation, no guidance and no idea that what they say in that room determines what support they walk away with 🤯

You are not expected to know this system inside out! But someone in that room should, and that is exactly what I do 🌟

I debated whether to share this for a long time but families need to know what red flags actually look like because agencies will not always tell you 🚩

Your NDIS planner is not your advocate, they are there to process your plan within a framework ✨

They are not there to fight for your child, push back on decisions or make sure you leave with everything you need 🤝

Knowing this is not meant to scare you, it is meant to empower you. Because when you know who is and isn’t in your corner you can make sure the right people are in that room!
