La Trobe Private Hospital is excited to welcome Dr. Neiraja Gnaneswaran to our team of specialists!

Dr Neiraja (Neery) Gnaneswaran is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon with a passion for providing personalised, high-quality care.

After completing her specialist training in Queensland and gaining her Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2022, she undertook additional sub-specialty training at the Royal Melbourne and Royal Women’s Hospitals, focusing on breast reconstructive surgery.

She has a strong interest in complex reconstructive procedures and works closely with hospital multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for her patients.

Her clinical interests include:
- Skin cancer surgery
- Breast cancer reconstruction
- Breast reduction

Dr. Neery is now consulting at La Trobe Private Hospital. We’re thrilled to have her expertise supporting the Bundoora community!

Dr. Helen Mohan is a colorectal robotic surgeon, with a focus on all aspects of colorectal and a**l cancer care, from early disease to advanced cancer and peritoneal disease. She offers expert, compassionate care across a range of conditions including:

- Colonoscopy
- Diverticular disease
- Proctology (a**l fistula, pilonidal disease, haemorrhoids, fissures)
- Colorectal and a**l cancer (from early detection to advanced disease)

Helen is a dual-trained surgeon (Ireland and Australia) with advanced fellowships in robotic and cancer surgery, and a PhD in intestinal inflammation and cancer. She is actively involved in surgical research and education, with leadership roles in robotic surgery and cancer care.

Dr. Mohan is now available for consultation at La Trobe Private Hospital and Melbourne Private Hospital.

We are delighted to share that we have reached an in-principle agreement with the Australian Health Service Alliance (AHSA) that ensures its members continue to be covered when attending one of our hospitals.

This agreement means AHSA fund members will not need to pay any additional fees.

We're pleased to announce that today we have confirmed a new two year in-principle funding agreement with Bupa.

The agreement will ensure that Bupa patients can continue to receive care and treatment at our hospitals across the country without any additional out of pocket charges.

This agreement will give certainty to our staff, doctors and Bupa customers.

We're looking forward to continuing our partnership with Bupa, working together to deliver outstanding patient care and collaborating on initiatives to support the long term sustainability of our sector.

Healthscope now has new agreements with four of Australia’s five major insurance groups – Bupa, Medibank, NIB, HCF. Our notice of contract termination with the Australian Health Service Alliance (AHSA) funds remains in place, effective from 4 March 2025.
