Today is International Donor Conception Awareness Day — a day to recognise the many different paths to building a family. 💛

As a fertility specialist, I have the privilege of supporting patients every day who are using donor s***m, donor eggs, and donor embryos to help make their dream of parenthood possible.

Donor conception is often a journey filled with courage, grief, hope, and incredible generosity. It can bring complex emotions, difficult decisions, and also immense joy.

Families created through donor conception are built on love, intention, and the kindness of those who choose to help others grow their families.

Today is also a reminder of the importance of openness, support, and ongoing conversations for donor-conceived people, intended parents, and donors alike.

To all those on this path — your journey is valid, your family is real, and your story matters. 💛

One of the very best parts of my job?
Getting cuddles with the babies I helped bring into the world 💕✨

After walking alongside patients through the highs, lows, hope, heartbreak, and everything in between, these moments are incredibly special. Seeing families grow and meeting these little humans is a reminder of why I do what I do every day.

And of course, I’m already looking forward to helping make this little cutie a big sibling in the future ❤️👶✨

There’s nothing quite like a baby cuddle to make your day.

Back to work today and straight into the best kind of Monday 💛

Nothing quite compares to seeing that first heart beat at early pregnancy scans—especially when they’re for returning patients coming back for baby number 2 and even baby number 3 through IVF with myself!

Being trusted to walk alongside families through each chapter of their journey is something I never take for granted. From the uncertainty of starting IVF to the joy of seeing growing families, it’s such a privilege to be part of these moments.

Grateful to do what I do. ✨

A little quiet on here lately—sometimes the best thing we can do is step away, reset, and recharge… or, as my kids would say, “Mum, go touch grass.” 🌿😂

So, I took their advice.

I’ve had some time to pause, refocus, and fill my own cup, and I’m looking forward to being back at work on Monday feeling refreshed and ready.

A huge thank you to my wonderful colleagues for their support and for covering for me while I took this time—it truly takes a village, and I’m so grateful to work alongside such an incredible team.

Sometimes the best medicine is a little perspective, fresh air, and listening to your children.

Here’s to balance, gratitude, and coming back stronger. 🤍

Great night connecting with colleagues over an educational dinner—sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas, and learning from each other to keep improving the care we provide. Grateful to be part of such a dedicated and thoughtful community.

International Women’s Day 🌸

Today is a day to recognise the strength, resilience, and achievements of women everywhere.

It’s also a reminder that progress in women’s health, equality, and opportunity happens because women continue to speak up, support one another, and push for change.

To the women advocating for themselves and others, lifting each other up, and making space for future generations — today we celebrate you.

As a gynaecologist and fertility specialist here in Melbourne, I’m very aware of the recent concerns circulating about an endometriosis surgeon.

For anyone who is feeling confused, distressed, dismissed, or questioning their own experience — I want to say this clearly:

Your pain is real.
Your symptoms are real.
Your feelings are valid.
And you deserve to be heard and believed.

Endometriosis is already a condition that too often leaves people feeling unheard or minimised. If recent events have brought up uncertainty, anger, grief, or fear about your own care, please know you are not “overreacting.” It’s okay to ask questions. It’s okay to seek another opinion. It’s okay to advocate for yourself.

If you need a space to talk through your concerns, review your history, or simply be listened to — I am here.

Medicine works best when it is grounded in trust, transparency and compassion. Every patient deserves that.

❤️ Valentine’s Day looks different for everyone. ❤️

Today can be filled with love, celebration and roses… but for many, it can also carry longing, grief, uncertainty, or quiet hope.

In fertility medicine, I’m reminded every day that love doesn’t only exist in couples.
It exists in the strength of single women choosing motherhood on their own.
In individuals freezing eggs for the future.
In partners supporting each other through loss and IVF cycles.
And in those still waiting for their person — while holding onto their dream of a family.

Valentine’s Day isn’t just about romantic love.
It’s about courage, resilience, self-love, and the many different ways we build our futures.

If today feels heavy for you, please know you’re not alone.
And if you’re ready to explore your options — partnered or not — there are pathways forward.

With compassion always 🤍

Whilst my day to day life isn’t all lab coats and rainbows(!) this little caricature made me smile. Each tiny embryo represents a story, a family waiting, and the trust patients place in me to guide them through one of the most emotional journeys they will ever take.

I’m reminded daily that fertility medicine is not only about technology and expertise — it’s about compassion, resilience, and never losing sight of the dream that brings people through our doors. 🤍

In fertility care, the journey is rarely a straight line. There are storm clouds—uncertainty, waiting, setbacks—but sometimes a break in the clouds lets a little sunshine through.

As a fertility specialist, my role is to help guide patients through the storm, with evidence-based care, honesty, and compassion, while holding space for hope when the light begins to appear. ☀️

✨ Last embryo transfer for 2025 ✨
Ending the year the best way I know how — with hope.
Today marked my final embryo transfer for 2025, a reminder of the trust my patients place in me and the team and the quiet strength behind every journey.
Here’s to science, care, and the possibility that a new beginning is already underway.
Good luck little blast and look it’s beginning to hatch!
