Effects of Acupuncture on Musculoskeletal Pain:

This new research from 11 August 2025 explored the evidence for acupuncture for musculoskeletal pain via 111 systematic reviews (SR), covering 35 musculoskeletal pain conditions.

Overall, the evidence was very promising, with the large majority of SR finding acupuncture more beneficial than the control, which covered various treatments such as sham acupuncture, medications, usual care, no treatment, etc.

The easiest way to access your feminine is to have acupuncture. Why? Because we as acupuncturists create the masculine that holds the space for you to relax and surrender into the feminine state. The feminine loves life and all the joy, play and vibrancy it can get, but to truly go deep into this state we must feel supported enough to let go.

So that's what acupuncture does and it reminds the body how good this relaxed state feels, it's here that healing and rejuvenation can happen.

In life it's very important for us feminine orientated women to have the masculine well established within ourselves and also in our partner to have the masculine so they can support us.

Menopause is often referred to as the Second Spring in TCM, a term that reflects a philosophical and holistic reframe of this life transition. Rather than viewing menopause as a decline or loss, TCM embraces it as a rebirth, renewal, and a new phase of vitality similar to how spring follows winter in nature.

Motherhood Tips

It's so easy to get into the trap of doing and being everything as a mum.

Of course we can do it all but does it drain us or enhance our life?

I have learned that mothering goes better if we put ourselves first and truly look at what we need to be the best mum for our kids.

I soon realised I needed time for self and I didn't need that much time out but I needed it regularly and this made me a contented Mum who was there in her body for my kids.

Mothering is amazing but it's also relentless and we need to be nurtured along the way.

Tip one: Get a babysitter when they're young, the kids love it and then you can regenerate to be the best version of yourself.

Tip two: Allow yourself the pleasure of dropping into your feminine essence daily by yourself, this will help you to reconnect to another part of you other than the mother. You can do this easily with simple things like sitting in nature, having a cuppa tea in the garden, dancing to your favourite song, having a bath, being creative, basically anything that brings you joy.

Tip three: Get some acupuncture this will change everything.

Best, Tabitha

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, spring represents a season of renewal, growth, and awakening, both in nature and within the body. TCM views health and disease through the lens of natural cycles, and each season has specific associations that guide how we should live, eat, and care for our bodies during that time.

Liver & Spring
The liver is the main organ associated with spring.
It governs the smooth flow of Qi (vital energy) and blood throughout the body.
When the liver is balanced, you feel energized, creative, emotionally stable, and motivated.
When out of balance (especially in spring), it may cause irritability, tension, headaches, PMS, or digestive issues.
Spring Recommendations in TCM

1. Support Liver Function:

Eat light, green, and fresh foods: sprouts, leafy greens, young vegetables.

Avoid heavy, greasy foods and excess alcohol.

2. Get Moving:

Gentle exercise like walking, stretching, tai chi, or yoga helps keep Qi flowing and supports liver health.

3. Express and Release Emotions:

Suppressed anger or frustration can stagnate liver Qi.

Journaling, therapy, or creative outlets are beneficial.

4. Wake Earlier:

Rise with the sun to align with spring’s expanding Yang energy.

5. Cleanse & Simplify:

Spring is a good time for a gentle detox or dietary reset.

Decluttering your environment can also help emotionally and mentally.

I love this question and it's one I so enjoy clarifying...Acupuncture and dry needling both involve the insertion of thin needles into the body, but they differ significantly in their origin, theory, and practice:

1. Origin and Philosophy

Acupuncture:

Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), dating back thousands of years.
Based on the concept of Qi (energy) flowing through meridians (energy pathways).
Needles are inserted at specific acupuncture points to restore balance and harmony in the body.

Dry Needling:

Developed in the 20th century by Western physical therapists and physicians.
Based on modern anatomy and neurophysiology, not energy flow.
Targets myofascial trigger points (tight knots in muscle tissue) to relieve pain and improve function.

2. Purpose and Application

Acupuncture:
Treats a wide range of physical, emotional, and systemic conditions (e.g., pain, digestive issues, anxiety).
Often used as a holistic treatment for overall well-being

Dry Needling:

Primarily used to treat musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction.
Often part of a physical therapy or rehabilitation program to release muscle tightness.

3. Technique and Training

Acupuncture:

Requires extensive training in TCM philosophy, diagnostics, and meridian theory.
Practiced by licensed acupuncturists

Dry Needling:

Performed mostly by physical therapists, chiropractors, or medical doctors with specialized certification.
Focus is purely mechanical, targeting specific trigger points rather than meridians.
