You can’t call in sick when you ARE the business.

It’s the school holidays.

The kids are home.
The work is still there.
The clients don’t know.
The deadlines don’t care.

So you do what you always do.

You figure it out.
You hold it all together.
You make it work.

And at 5pm nothing stops.

It just shifts.

From one version of needed to another.

Here’s the truth nobody tells you

You’re not failing.
You’re not weak.
You’re not bad at this.

You’re just running on empty and never taught how to refill.

That’s not a discipline problem.
That’s not a time management problem.

I wasn’t a bad mum, I was overwhelmed 🫣

I really thought it was me.

That I needed to do more.
That I needed to be like that mum over there..
That I was getting it wrong.

But I wasn’t.

I was exhausted.

And then when school / kindy holidays arrived and everything seemed even harder.
