Today we honour the strength, compassion and leadership of the amazing women in our team and within our Open Door Program - a program that continues to support families who may not otherwise have access to therapy.

The spirit of International Women’s Day and this year’s “Give to Gain” theme is truly lived every day at MTS.

Key Word Sign is a powerful way to support all children to get their message across while their speech is still developing.
It’s also a fantastic communication option for children who are non-speaking.

At My Therapy Space, we’re lucky to have both Directors, Trish and Lisa, as qualified Key Word Sign Presenters, and Kate our OT Team Lead is fluent in Auslan 🙌

New Medicare items were released this week to support children with:
✨ Speech Sound Disorders
✨ Stuttering
✨ Cleft Lip/Palate

These new items may allow eligible children to access Medicare-rebated speech pathology sessions 🙌

Are people meant to be having this much fun while learning?! 🤩⁠

Last week the incredible educators at Carey Lane Early Learning Centre absolutely brought the energy with Director Trish for their Key Word Sign workshop — and WOW, what a crew!⁠
⁠
The enthusiasm, the curiosity, the willingness to jump in… it was next level. By the end of the session they weren’t just practising signs — they were singing, signing and holding full conversations (including a passionate conversation about "pan fried fish!” 🐟👏 A first for Miss Trish!).⁠
⁠
And another record? 100% of the room was right-handed — also a first in 24 years of running sign workshops !⁠
⁠
Most importantly, this team showed such genuine commitment to creating inclusive, communication-rich environments for their children. When educators lean in like this, everybody benefits.⁠
