There is one thing on earth we all possess, a space we all inhabit. It's the first thing you are given and the last thing you leave. It can be shaped, sculpted, trained, tweaked, toned, sustained but never abandoned. It cannot be duplicated. It is wholly unique, wholly yours, yet only you can make it whole. It is complete and perfect, yet requires constant renovation. To maintain it you must move

it. To restore it, it must rest it. It requires a balance of movement and stillness to survive. If you work it, it will work for you. Your relationship to this space will affect the quality of your experience on this planet. It is a space in which life shows up. It is your body. Your body is the space for you. We are the space for your body.

At Boheme + Body we made the shift to being an exclusively Yoga focused studio a couple of years ago.

At a time when the life is pushing us constantly to want more, do more, be more, we knew it was time to simplify.

To meet the demands of modern life with the traditions + practices that we know work best + that best support our community.

If you are looking for ways to strengthen your body, build your confidence, have deeper more meaningful relationships, work more productively, release stress, experience positive mental health, heal past pains, transform your energy, manifest your goals or awaken your inner potential.

You don’t need to hire a team of professionals, spend more than you earn, busy yourself trying to do every modalities you see online, or give your power away to “gurus”.

From a holistic perspective, wellbeing is rarely built in big dramatic changes.
More often it is shaped by the small rhythms we return to each day.

Rhythm is what gently holds us.

Our bodies + our nervous system thrives on a sense of predictability + flow.

When our days have small anchors, moments that repeat and return, the mind can soften, the body can settle + we begin to feel more resourced to meet life as it is.

This does not mean rigid routines or perfectly structured days.

Instead, think of rhythm as a few steady touchpoints that guide you home to yourself.

Perhaps it looks like:

• Waking and taking a few quiet breaths before reaching for your phone
• Stepping outside for morning light
• Pausing midday to notice your body and your breath
• Moving your body in a way that feels supportive rather than demanding
• Creating a gentle evening wind-down ritual

These small moments send a message to the nervous system:
You are safe. There is time. There is space to land.

When we create rhythm in our days, we begin to move with life rather than against it.

The invitation is not to do more.

It is simply to ask:

What small rhythms would support me today?

Sometimes the most powerful shift in wellbeing is not a new habit,

Your body is always speaking, but are you listening?

The knowledge we seek to navigate life really exists within us, but learning to tune into our body's innate wisdom is a daily practice.

A daily somatic check-in is simply the practice of listening.

The more often we pause and notice, the more we learn to move through our day with awareness, rather than pushing past what the body is asking for.

Just one minute of listening can change the way you move through the rest of your day.

I personally set an alarm in my phone to go off at 6am, 10am, 2pm + 6pm to have a Somatic check in like this 👉🏻

In any Yoga class or practice you will find yourself multiple times moving into + through Downward Facing Dog pose.

We love + need this asana for many reasons including; the strength it brings to your upper body, the elongation of the spine, the relief to your lower body, the release of stress + tension, improved circulation + the sense of stability it brings to your mind.

However for some people they can find themselves uncomfortable, striving for the shape the person next to them is doing + not honouring their own body.

Following these tips will help you to find more comfort to stay in downward facing dog, alleviate discomfort from your wrists + bring your upper body into it's natural best alignment.

Celebrating our students practice journey's with our dear Dan.

Having practised 76 classes in 90 days of this year.

Dan started his Yoga journey with us just over 18 months ago, loving his Yin classes for the first 6 months of his Yoga journey.

He then decided he was ready to try some Vinyasa, now a dedicated practitioner joining the balance of both styles.

Dan brings so much joy to the studio + classes, so thank you Dan.

Have you practised with Soph yet?.

She has been popping up with some covers + we are now warmly welcoming her to the Boheme Team permanently on a Friday 6am.

Soph shares here her Yoga journey.

Yoga has bolstered me through life’s ups and downs, a steady hand of support, always meeting me where I am. It’s been a way to slow down, a tether back to myself, a source of community, momentum, joy, honesty, resilience… and so much more. Through sharing simple, potent practices and teachings, I hope to offer the space and access for others to also experience these wonderful gifts of yoga.

Soph’s classes are:
Strong and intentional - helping you to really get into your body. I try to offer some time to slow down and focus so we can reconnect with ourselves and have a crack at reducing some of that mind noise. I like to include all the good bits, movement, almost always some pranayama, quiet stillness and a little philosophy to take away and into our lives off the mat.

Soph loves Yoga because:
Gosh so many things! I think it builds resilience in a really quiet, steady way, and reminds me I don’t have to have everything together to show up. It’s one of the few practices where I can access a calm clarity, and also genuine joyfulness. It reminds me to be real, to be present and connected to my life and not let the magic in the simple things be forgotten, in a way it helps restore meaning. Ultimately it bolsters me in whatever I need and encourages me to enjoy my life.
