A quick shout out to the trades working hard at the Health Hub. Working to an extremely high standard and a tight program, we have seen the very best of our local skilled trades on show.

Fairbrother site foreman Jacob and project manager Josh have been leading the charge with great work ethic, attitude and a sense of humour along the way.

Although this project is about delivering a project with longstanding community social and health uses, we look forward to highlighting the many skilled trades and their workmanship along the way as we complete various stages.

Today, the ribbon was officially cut on the Medicare Urgent Care Clinic at the Burnie Health Hub - marking an important step forward for accessible healthcare on the North West Coast.

We were proud to welcome government representatives, including Anne Urquhart MP, alongside our health and community partners to celebrate the opening of this vital service.

The clinic is now open seven days a week from 12pm to 10pm, providing fully bulk-billed care for urgent, non-life-threatening conditions - for care when it’s urgent, but not an emergency.

This moment reflects what’s possible when community, healthcare providers, and government work together, with Burnie Health Hub continuing to grow as a place designed to support better health outcomes for our region.

Urgent care needed urgent change — and that change is coming to the Burnie Health Hub.

We’re excited to share that a Medicare Urgent Care Clinic is opening at Burnie Health Hub from 9 February 2026.

The clinic will operate 7 days a week, from 12pm to 10pm, and will be fully bulk billed — all you’ll need is your Medicare card.

This is an important step for our community, helping ensure people in Burnie and surrounding areas can access timely, affordable care when it’s needed most, closer to home.

Building the Burnie Health Hub: Our Consultant Team is on Board.

We’re excited to announce that the full consultant team for the Burnie Health Hub has now been appointed and have been working hard at delivering our vision.

This talented group of architects, engineers and project specialists brings together deep experience in health infrastructure, community engagement and sustainable design. Together, they’ll help us deliver a modern, patient-centred facility that supports GPs, pharmacy, medical imaging and health service providers under one roof.

Their collaborative approach will ensure the Hub reflects the needs of our region and sets a new benchmark for integrated care in North-West Tasmania.
