Harbison

Harbison Harbison is a community-owned, not-for-profit organisation in the Southern Highlands of NSW.

For over 65 years, we’ve supported people through every stage of life with trusted care, connection and wellbeing for all ages. Harbison is a community-owned not-for-profit approved aged care provider committed to safe and quality care services. We have two locations on the traditional lands of the Gundungarra people, at Moss Vale and Burradoo (Bowral), in the Southern Highlands of NSW. We offer the full range of care and lifestyle services to support older people as their needs change. This includes a range of aged care accommodation: specialised dementia care, respite care, residential care, home care, palliative care and NDIS. In 1956, Harbison was established in the Southern Highlands by a group of volunteers who recognised a high, local need for aged care services. After more than sixty years, we remain dedicated to serving the local community and are a thriving organisation, employing over 350 staff. We are proud of the history we have in this beautiful area and with the generations who live here. We truly believe we offer the best place to grow old in the Southern Highlands.

Earlier this month, Harbison residents pedalled their way into the Motiview Winter/Summer Championships, a 2 week global cycling event connecting older adults from Australia and across the world.

A fun, feel-good challenge where every pedal counts, Harbison proudly took out ✨FIRST and SECOND✨ place globally, across both of our sites 🎉

Our residents didn’t just meet their goals, they smashed them! Moss Vale set a target of 3,000km and rode an incredible 3,483.9km, while Burradoo aimed for 1,500km and powered through to 1,851.5km.

Huge congratulations to our champions and to all the teams who took part, what an achievement! 🚴‍♀️💙

Meet Kritika, our wonderful Clinical Care Manager ⭐️

Kritika joined Harbison seven years ago as a Registered Nurse and quickly made her mark. After three years in the role, she stepped into an Acting Clinical Care Manager position while covering parental leave, which then saw her moving into the role of CCM permanently. What was once a per-site role has since evolved, and today Kritika oversees clinical care across both our Burradoo and Moss Vale sites.

🗣️“What I love about working at Harbison is the genuine sense of home and community. Everything is about the residents, the staff and the families. There are real opportunities to grow, no matter your age, and strong support from senior management. Harbison is innovative and forward thinking, but it’s the way staff support and celebrate each other, especially seeing residents achieve incredible things with the team cheering them on, that makes it special. My heart is truly in Harbison.”

✨How Kritika describes Harbison: “Open to change, resilient, an organisation that’s open to providing learning opportunities and keen to grow together as team” 🙌
✨What it’s like to work here? “Challenging, rewarding and fun” 🎉
✨On a personal note: She enjoys cooking and gardening with her husband, tending to their home grown vegetables 🌽.

We’re so grateful to have Kritika as part of our senior leadership team. Her unwavering support and genuine care for her team truly reflect Harbison’s values, and we’re proud to have her leading our community every day. 💙

💛🚲 A beautiful story of connection is rolling into the Southern Highlands.

Cycling Without Age is a volunteer-led program that gives older people the chance to feel the wind in their hair again, heading outdoors, sharing stories and reconnecting with their community through specially designed trishaw rides.

At Harbison, our volunteer pilots don’t just offer a ride… They create moments of laughter, conversation and genuine human connection and it’s these small moments that make a big difference.

As part of NSW Seniors Festival, we’re inviting our community to come along and experience this inspiring movement through a special film screening and find out how you can get involved as a volunteer.

A very special visitor at Harbison Moss Vale 🐶🐾

At 88, Una knows just how powerful a little companionship can be… especially when it arrives on four paws!

Coco her Labrador, visits Una regularly at Harbison, giving her the connection and joy she’s always had with dogs throughout her life.

“Living in a place where pets are welcomed, even as visitors, means everything,” Una says.💙

We are proud to support moments like this at Harbison, creating a place where people can continue their relationships, routines and comforts that matter most to them.

🌍🚴‍♀️ Harbison vs the World 🚴‍♂️🌍

This week, Harbison residents hit the ground pedalling with the commencement of the Motiview Winter/Summer Championships! A fun, global cycling challenge bringing senior communities together from Australia and around the world.

Think of it as a mini Road Worlds for Seniors: two weeks of movement, motivation and friendly competition, where every pedal counts. 💪✨

We’ll be riding alongside hundreds of older adults internationally, flying the Harbison flag and showing what our community can do, all while staying active, connected and having a lot of fun.

Let the games begin! 🚩🌏

Our Story

Harbison is a residential community providing aged care services for older people across two locations in Burradoo and Moss Vale in the Southern Highlands.

We offer the full range of care and lifestyle services to support older people as their needs change. This includes a range of aged care accommodation: independent living, home care, respite care, residential care, specialised dementia care and palliative care.

Our accommodation provides quality, integrated aged care and lifestyle services to our residents, enabling them to age in place. They experience a ‘continuum of care’ within a genuinely caring and social village-like environment without the need to move.

In 1956, Harbison was established in the Southern Highlands by a group of volunteers who recognised a high, local need for aged care services. After more than sixty years, we remain dedicated to serving the local community and are a thriving organisation, employing over 350 staff.
