Harbison has provided professional aged care and support to the Southern Highlands, for more than 60
Harbison is a community-owned not-for-profit approved aged care provider committed to safe and quality care services. We have two locations on the traditional lands of the Gundungarra people, at Moss Vale and Burradoo (Bowral), in the Southern Highlands of NSW. We offer the full range of care and lifestyle services to support older people as their needs change. This includes a range of aged care accommodation: specialised dementia care, respite care, residential care, home care, palliative care and NDIS. In 1956, Harbison was established in the Southern Highlands by a group of volunteers who recognised a high, local need for aged care services. After more than sixty years, we remain dedicated to serving the local community and are a thriving organisation, employing over 350 staff. We are proud of the history we have in this beautiful area and with the generations who live here. We truly believe we offer the best place to grow old in the Southern Highlands.

Today marks an exciting step forward in Moss Vale! 👷🎉
We have broken ground on Harbison’s new independent living village - bringing modern, co-located retirement living to the📍Southern Highlands.
Designed for active ageing, close connection and living well...right here at home!
A big thank you 🫶 to our local federal MP, Carol Berry MP for showing her support for a project our community truly needs.
Dementia doesn’t just affect the person living with it… it also impacts their friends, family, and wider community. Sadly, many people living with dementia experience isolation when those around them aren’t sure how to stay connected.
With more than 433,000 Australians living with dementia and 1.7 million people involved in their care, chances are you know someone who is impacted. That’s why this week, Dementia Australia are challenging us all to reach out and reconnect with someone impacted by dementia, because nobody can do it alone.
As part of this important week, Harbison is proud to sponsor the upcoming screening of Otto by Otto 🎬, hosted by Dementia Inclusive Southern Highlands - DISH and Dementia Australia. It’s a moving documentary and a chance to come together in support of our community.
At Harbison, we are always proud to support events that bring people together, foster understanding and shine a light on the human stories behind dementia care.
We are proud to be sponsoring the upcoming screening of Otto by Otto, a moving documentary by Gracie Otto celebrating her father Barry Otto’s remarkable career in Australian theatre, film, and television 🎬🍿
Hosted by Dementia Inclusive Southern Highlands, the event will feature a local panel including a carer, Dementia Australia, and representatives from Harbison.
Date - Wednesday 17th September
Time - 10:30 am for an 11:00 am screening
Location - Empire Cinema, 327 B**g B**g Street, Bowral
This is a great opportunity to experience an intimate family story, connect with the community and learn more about dementia support initiatives in our region ☺
Happy Father’s day to all the incredible dads and father figures in our Harbison community. 🤗

We are always proud to welcome Jesse Fitzpatrick, Mayor of Wingecarribee Shire Council and our Patron, to Harbison
Our residents loved having him join in our Motiview cycling adventures and stop by for chats in our cafe.
It was also special to have him there to congratulate our outstanding team members, Brianna Browne (National 2025 Rising Star You Are ACE! winner) and Justin Woodward (national finalist), for their recent awards.
We were excited to share our updates with him too - work is underway at our Burradoo home, and construction will soon begin on our new co-located retirement village in Moss Vale. Exciting times ahead for Harbison and our community!
Thank you, Mayor Fitzpatrick, for your ongoing support as our Patron and for your visit, we are looking forward to welcoming you back soon 💙

Today we were delighted to welcome Judy Hannan MP - Member for Wollondilly, back to Harbison. We love having Judy visit and today she joined our residents on the Motiview cycling program and stayed for a lovely afternoon high tea 🍰
We were honoured to have Judy present official NSW Parliament Certificates of Recognition to Brianna Browne (winner of the National 2025 Rising Star You Are ACE! Award) and Justin Woodward (national finalist in the same category). This award celebrates exceptional care, innovation and leadership, and we are so proud of Bree, Justin, and all our nominated team members.
We also want to thank Judy for announcing last week that Harbison has been awarded $12,000 through the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership Program for our Intergenerational Program. This funding will help us continue building meaningful connections across generations.
Thank you, Judy, for your ongoing support of Harbison and our community 💙

Celebrating Harbison’s Rising Star Bree Browne!
We are very proud to share that Bree Browne has been named the winner of the 2025 You Are ACE! Rising Star Award🌟
At just 22, Bree is already showing what the future of aged care leadership looks like. Since joining Harbison in 2022 as a Personal Care Worker, Bree has risen into the role of Deputy Personal Care Manager, leading care teams, mentoring colleagues, and uplifting our community every day with heart, humility and excellence.
As part of recognising this incredible achievement and the leadership Bree continues to demonstrate, we are proud to support her continued growth by sending her on the upcoming SAGE Executive Study Tours Toronto study tour - an international learning experience run in association with Ageing Australia.
We see this as not only a reward for her impact, but an investment in her future and in the future of care at Harbison.
Congratulations, Bree! Your journey inspires us all. 💜
