Being homeless is not a choice - it can, and does, happen to anyone.

Increased costs of living, a lack of affordable housing, and the impact of domestic and family violence can all be contributing factors to Australiaโ€™s housing and homelessness crisis.

This October, our Energy & Resources Team in WA will be taking action.

'Sleep In Your Car' challenges you to sleep overnight in your vehicle to help raise vital funds for Australians without a safe place to call home. Sleep In Your Car will provide crucial, nationwide support services to help more children, families and individuals who are doing it tough. This uncomfortable challenge is an unfortunate reality for many Australians, but we can work together to change it.

Any donation (link ๐Ÿ‘‡) would be greatly appreciated, and a huge show of support for those in need.

Year 10 students from Hedland Senior High School swapped books for boots recently as they stepped into the world of mining via the 9th running of the Exploring Career Pathways Program โ€“ a program run by Programmed Energy and Resources and Programmed Training Services, in conjunction with BHP Western Australia.

In an action-packed two and a half days, students immersed themselves in Port and Rail operations, connected with inspiring mentors, and gained a real insight into what life after school could look like in the Pilbara.

The curiosity was high, the energy was electric, and the enthusiasm was contagious โ€“ the futureโ€™s looking bright (and orange) and we can't wait for the 10th anniversary of this Program!

Our team members John McDonald, HSEQ Manager, and Nik Mastilovich, Regional Manager โ€“ Victoria, had the โ€œpleasureโ€ of attending the Indigenous Leadership Summit in Melbourne last month.

โ€œIt was a pleasure to attend the Summit โ€“ we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience,โ€ said Nik.

โ€œI personally learned a great deal and it was a privilege to hear so many interesting speakers and listen to their stories firsthand.

โ€œJohn also kindly donated a beautiful painting by Sharon Porter Napangardi to Mater Christi College in Belgrave, which was a lovely moment during the event.

โ€œWe are grateful for the opportunity to attend this Summit. It was a valuable and meaningful experience, and we would highly recommend it to anyone able to attend โ€“ including the upcoming event in Sydney.โ€
