Honouring the Life and Legacy of St Vincent de Paul, on St. Vincent's Day, 27 September.

On Wednesday 24 September, we gathered to celebrate the staff and residents at St Vincent’s Residential Aged Care and to celebrate the Feast of St Vincent de Paul, a day that honours his enduring legacy of compassion, social justice, and service to those in need.

Fr Arulraj led a beautiful Mass, followed by a joyful morning tea and lunch shared among residents, staff, and visitors.

As part of the celebration, residents created heartfelt hand and heart-shaped cut-outs, sharing personal wishes, meaningful quotes, and stories of times they had helped others, reflecting the spirit of St Vincent himself.

On behalf of the executive team who attended, we extend our sincere thanks to the residents and team at St Vincent’s for warmly welcoming us into your home and allowing us to be part of this special day.

Every day, Bill brightens up the fish tank in the mornings and switches off the light in the evenings. He also helps keep the tank clean, making sure the little swimmers have a happy, healthy home. It’s the small, thoughtful acts that make a big difference! 💜

Finger lickin’ good! Ocean Star resident Ed Warren was all smiles today, enjoying his favourite treat - KFC!

Back when he lived at home, Ed loved ordering it weekly or fortnightly, and now with a little help from our team (and the Menulog app!), he can still savour his special lunch in residential care. 💜

With authenticity and understanding, Paula supports Frances in her daily life through Catholic Homes Home Care services. Paula has helped Frances feel comfortable and truly heard, providing daily support and assistance. Allowing Frances to continue to live independently in her own home for longer, surrounded by her home and the memories she loves. 💜

Eric loves being involved around the home, especially helping set up the dining room tables. He even has his own routine to make sure everything is just right. Always eager to stay busy, Eric is happy to lend a hand wherever it’s needed, making life brighter for everyone around him.

We enjoyed a special visit from Tiffany, the amazing coordinator of the Bunnings workshops! Tiffany brought a terracotta bird bath and stand for our residents to mosaic — a fun, creative project that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Our residents are excited to finish the masterpiece and see it proudly displayed in the courtyard for all to admire!

The Winter Wonderland Luncheon at Trinity Village was filled with good food, great company, and festive cheer!

Residents and staff savoured a delicious meal lovingly served by Paolo, surrounded by beautiful seasonal decorations that brought the room to life. Everyone was delighted by Garry Lynn’s classic tunes, singing along and sharing smiles all afternoon. 💜

For the most recent LiveLighter Aged Care Aged Games, everyone has a role, and every role is important! Pamela’s painting scarecrows, Keith’s cutting out crows, and Nourah’s patching shirts for our St Vincent’s team decorations and costumes. Together, they’re bringing creativity, care, and team spirit to life!
