Simon Blair Osteopath Darling Corner Osteo
www.darlingcornerosteo.com.au Simon completed his Bachelor of Clinical Science and Masters of Health Science at Victoria University.

He first became interested in Osteopathy after seeking advice for several sporting injuries sustained whilst playing Rugby Union. Simon enjoyed the approach and results Osteopathy offered and pursued a career in the field. Simon represented the Melbourne RUFC for over 20 years as a player but has recently hung up the boots and moved into a coaching role. In the off-season he tries to keep active by playing tennis, cycling and heading to the gym. Simon has a keen interest in lower limb and shoulder complaints. Now working in a clinical setting he enjoys helping those people who sustain injuries get back to the activities they love most. He commonly treats acute and long standing chronic conditions, including headaches, neck pain, and lower back pain. Using a range of osteopathic manual techniques combined with exercise and lifestyle advice, he believes that good communication and patient education are paramount in helping improve the patient’s complaint, encouraging active recovery and increasing their understanding to prevent re-injury occurring in the future.

Tell your osteo about your injury, how it happened. Talk about the activities you enjoy and about your general health. They will listen, then work with you on a management plan to get you back on the pitch, on your bike, into the garden, or playing with your kids.

Your osteo may also look for links between your injury and other things that might influence the injury. This might include testing your muscle strength or how you perform certain activities.

Osteopaths manage many spinal conditions but that's not all. They are trained to manage a huge range of conditions affecting the whole body.

Your osteopath considers how different parts of your body interact with each other. This may mean, for example, evaluating whether your spinal pain or discomfort is being triggered by your joints, muscles, ligaments, bones or a connection that points to multiple causes.
