Today marks the final session of my first Love Therapy Group! This is a culmination of spending many hours each week for 20 weeks (more than 100 hours in total), preparing the weekly group presentations. I hope that this will help many people in the future that are suffering from mental illness. I look forward to hopefully publishing some research data about this in the future and make it more widely available.

The therapy is targeted towards patients with a history of complex PTSD, Borderline personality traits, depression and anxiety. The therapy is based on evidence based therapies for these conditions. The therapy addresses each core need of Maslow’s hierarchy and each chakra in the body. The therapy intertwines western psychology and meditation techniques.

The therapy runs for an hour weekly for 20 weeks and includes time to debrief which is optional and to apply the skills in the session. I’ll be starting a new group every 1 to 2 months. Part of a fee is covered by Medicare. For further details see Dr Karan Sinha, https://drkaransinha.business.site

Today marks a momentous occasion! I had my first Love Therapy Group today online. This is the culmination of 12 years of researching and developing the 16 session, weekly hourly group therapy.

It is based on Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs and Chakras in the body. We address each core need progressively with evidence based psychological and meditation techniques. One of the main goals of the therapy is to heal the feeling of “not being good enough” and the inner critic to a consistent compassionate sense of self. The entire therapy is voluntary and you can drop out at any point. It is open age range currently 15yo+. It is Medicare rebatable. It is mostly beneficial for people with borderline personality traits, complex PTSD, depression and anxiety. The therapy is based on current evidence based therapies including cognitive behavioural therapy, compassion focus therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, schema therapy and eye-movement desensitisation reprocessing.

I will be researching and publishing data on this next year. Hopefully this is a sign for more things to come. I’ll be starting a new group every six weeks. My sole purpose is to heal the great burden of mental illness especially during these Covid lockdowns with the power of self love ❤️

To learn more see www.facebook.com/drksinha or to join the group you will need to get referred to Vital Psychiatry Clinic from your GP (PH: 9888 9612, email referrals@vitalpsychiatry.com.au).

Thanks for IABCA for the nomination. I dedicate this in my future endeavours to alleviate suffering of those with mental illness in the community, especially during the recent difficult times during Covid 🙏🏽.

Pictured below is Dr. Karan Sinha, one of our finalists for the IABCA Young Professional of the Year Award! Dr. Karan Sinha is a leader and advocates in his field for approaching mental health from a holistic perspective. Over the past ten years, Dr. Karan has developed a novel Self Compassion Therapy which merges his long-standing interest in Eastern Spirituality with Western Psychology, combining the best of both worlds. He inspires patients to adopt scientifically proven practices of guided meditation, self-compassion and exercise to assist in their recovery. The therapy intertwines the Western concept of Maslow's hierarchy of needs with the eastern spiritual concept of kundalini chakras. IABCA are pleased to congratulate Dr. Karan Sinha and we wish him the best of luck heading into the 2021 IABCA Gala as an accomplished finalist.

Wishing you all a Happy New Years for 2021 ❤️ Whilst 2020 has undoubtably been a challenging year for all of us, it has given us an opportunity to sit at home with our thoughts and reflect on the outer and inner virus of greed and selfishness most of us have been living. Outer situations often reflect an inner conflict and repeats until the inner conflict is resolved. Let us resolve in 2021 to overcome our inner viruses and share the love on this troubled Earth 🌏❤️

Dear Friends, I want to share a really effective self-love practice I learnt from a online Mindful Self Compassion Course:

Try saying affirmations from the perspective of your compassionate/older and wiser/Divine Self or from a loving role model/Divine figure To your vulnerable self/inner child/ inner critic. Here are some of mine that I say to myself in the morning and before I sleep and have written on my mirror:

1. You are safe and protected from harm. Everything will be ok 🥰
2. I love you. I care for you. I am here for you. I accept you unconditionally. ❤️
3. I believe in you. You are strong and disciplined. You can do it! 👍🏽
4. You can accept, love and forgive others unconditionally 😘

May your Inner Compassionate Self be always with you ❤️❤️❤️
