🌱💬 Let’s talk food, community & looking out for each other 💬🌱

Many of us are starting to feel a growing sense of uncertainty when it comes to something as basic as food- what’s available, what’s affordable, and what the future might look like.

What if we leaned into something different? 🤝
What if we built stronger community resilience, backed mutual aid, and made sure our values actually reflect a simple belief:
👉 Everyone deserves access to good, healthy food.

This is your invitation to be part of that conversation.

🥕🌻 Food Action Group Co-Creation Workshop
📍 Busselton Community Resource Centre
📅 Wednesday 22nd April
⏰ 9:00am – 1:00pm

This isn’t a sit-and-listen kind of thing—this is about YOU.
Your ideas. Your experience. Your voice.

We’ll be talking about things like:
🍎 Making healthy food more accessible
🍳 Cooking & nutrition skills
🌱 Growing and sharing local food
🛠️ Building skills for food-based opportunities
📣 Advocating for real change
…and anything else YOU think we’re missing 👀

💡 Got an idea?
💡 Seen something that works?
💡 Noticed a gap no one’s talking about?

Bring it. Share it. Shape what comes next.

Because community resilience doesn’t just happen—it’s something we build together 💛

Tag someone who should come along, or reach out if you want to know more. Let’s make this count.

💛 Community generosity at its absolute best 💛

Today was a beautiful reminder of what makes this community so special. The Really Really Free Pantry continues to show us what mutual aid and collective care truly look like in action 🌱

We were blown away by an incredibly generous act today - one amazing woman gave in abundance to help ensure others in our community can enjoy a wonderful Easter. It’s this kind of kindness that ripples outward… it really is a super spreader ✨

Time and time again, we see the capacity this community has to give, to care, and to look out for one another. This is how we rebuild the village 💛

Thank you to everyone who shows up for each other in big and small ways.

Wishing you all a safe and happy Easter 🐣🌼

At Lamp Inc, we believe a strong community is one that cares for all of its members.

Through our work in disability and psychosocial support, we see every day how important the basics are: safe housing, connection to community, and access to food and supportive safe environments. These are things everyone deserves, regardless of who you are or what challenges you may be facing.

That’s why we are really proud to support our CEO Jesse as he takes part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout this year, helping to raise funds and awareness for people experiencing homelessness.

Advocacy for people who are often overlooked is at the heart of the work we do. When basic needs aren’t met, everything else becomes harder - health, recovery, stability, and participation in community life.

Jesse's target is $4000, which is a lot of money but what if 1,000 people donated just $4, the fundraising target would be reached. That’s less than a cup of coffee for most of us, but together it could make a real difference for people who need a safe place to sleep, a meal, or support to get back on their feet.

If you’re in a position to give, even a small amount helps. And if you can’t donate right now, sharing the message still helps raise awareness.

Thank you for proving time and time again that we live in a community that shows up for each other, the kind of community we all deserve to live in.

We are listening to our community and we know that renting right now is incredibly tough for many people.

This survey, led by Tim Clifford from The Greens (WA), is an opportunity for renters to share their lived experience and help inform advocacy for change.

If you are currently renting or have recently rented, your story matters. Your input will contribute to a broader campaign aimed at addressing the challenges people are facing in the current rental climate.

We encourage anyone with lived experience to take a few minutes to complete the survey and be part of shaping change.

✨ TAKE THE WA RENTERS RIGHTS SURVEY ✨

Do you currently rent in WA? I want to hear from you!

Today I’m launching The Greens (WA) renters rights survey to capture YOUR renting experiences – ones that will help supercharge our fight to secure better rental protections in WA.

Right now, renting is cooked – and getting worse. But the Cook Labor Government just isn’t listening to renters’ desperate calls for relief from this crisis.

Together, we’re going to make them listen.

The survey will only take about 5 minutes to complete, and it’s one of the most powerful actions you can take towards real rights for renters in WA.
