What a day! 💜

A huge thank you to Nick and Kerry Fucile for once again opening their front lawn to host their annual House Concert — a beautiful blend of live local music, community generosity, and a lively auction led by a true Fremantle Dockers–supporting legend of an MC!

This year’s event raised an incredible $7,230.62, bringing their total contribution to Busselton Hospice Care Inc. to an astonishing $40,600 over eight years.

Nick and Kerry, your commitment, heart, and generosity continue to inspire us and strengthen our community. To the musicians, donors, bidders, and guests — thank you for making this event so special.

📸 Enjoy a few photos from the day!

Please share through your networks. The role of caring for a loved one diagnosed with a life-limiting illness is too often hidden within communities. Join in this presentation and we can explore how we put a local spotlight on carers and support them as a community.

This session with Carer's WA is part of The Things We Don’t Talk About (But Should)- a new series of community information sessions presented in partnership with Busselton Hospice Care Inc.

Too often, we put difficult conversations off for a later date, only to find they hit us in the face later. What if we could talk about, and go through the difficulty, would it generate a more understanding and prepared attitude for our future?

This discussion is about unpaid carers, end of life, meaning making and the value of contemplating a life well lived. Especially for those unpaid carers who have little time to blink!

A great article from the Busselton Dunsborough Mail - please share widely.

Our volunteers bring comfort, calm and humanity to patients and families during end‑of‑life care. It’s an extraordinary gift — and we’ll support you every step of the way.

If you feel drawn to meaningful connection, gentle presence, and compassionate support, join our information session to explore this very special role, as well as the many other volunteer opportunities.

Busselton Hospice Care Inc. (BHCI) is inviting community members to join its team of dedicated volunteers as part of the 2026 Volunteer Recruitment Campaign.

This year's campaign highlights the wide range of meaningful volunteer roles available, like those who gift their time in the Busselton Hospice Unit.

Other tasks include supporting community education and accessing appropriate services, people living with life–limiting conditions, and those experiencing grief and bereavement, as well as practical roles such as gardening, maintenance, retail and e-commerce volunteers.

"Volunteers are the strength of Busselton Hospice Care Inc," chief executive James Jarvis said.

"Their compassion, their time, and their willingness to walk alongside others - whether in the Hospice Unit, with carers, or with those grieving - form the foundation of our journey–led approach.

"We welcome people from all walks of life to join us in ensuring no one dies or grieves alone."

The recruitment drive comes as BHCI continues its development of an integrated volunteer-led response to the community supporting people living life with a new diagnosis, living life with illness, living life while dying, and living with loss.

"This approach places our community members at the centre of our services, recognising that people enter and move through end–of–life journeys in deeply personal and varied ways."

One of the most meaningful contributions volunteers make is in the Busselton Hospice Unit, offering companionship, comfort, and practical support to patients and families during end–of–life care.

We’re caring for our community at end of life and in bereavement, and invite you to see what our community of palliative volunteers are really about.

Palliative care is care that helps people live their life as fully and as comfortably as possible when living with a life-limiting or terminal disease.

We provide support to people who are nearing the end of their life and may be feeling isolated and have a team of more than 100 professional volunteers who undergo rigorous training.

Palliative care recipients and their care givers, or anyone experiencing a recent bereavement can access our complementary therapies including reflexology, massage and facials.
