😱😱I can hardly believe it but this month marks six years since I took the plunge into the world of personal training.

I remember flying back to England, excited to start my course in London in January of 2020. Back then, I thought being a personal trainer was all about the workouts and perfecting techniques, I’ve learned so much since.

Over the years, I’ve come to see that being a trainer is just one piece of the puzzle and over the years I’ve come to identify more as a coach. Being a coach requires you to be your best self, in order to help bring out the best in others it's the best job I've ever had every day feels like a dream that I'm living I never feel like I work a day in my life and I am so beyond grateful that I get to do this every day. 

My journey kicked off right when Covid hit. I qualified and then went straight into lockdown. As soon as we could meet up again, I was out there training clients in my garden. I remember people saying personal training was a dying field and that I was making a bad choice. Little did they know, it was the best decision I could’ve made! The fitness industry has exploded, and I love being part of it, helping people lead healthier, happier lives.

I've been fortunate enough to coach many people over many years I've seen people go through breakups lose jobs game jobs we've countries by houses start families and I couldn't feel more privileged to be a small part of that journey with them I laugh with my clients I cry with them and have been through so much - I always love when past clients reach out with updates and it’s so amazing seeing what fitness can do for someone in terms of changing their life. Each person that’s walked through the gyms I’ve worked in, attended a class or session has taught me something too. So here are some thoughts I've gathered along the way

🎉Team High Level Health & Fitness takes on the Samson Challenge 2026!🎉
Wow what an incredible weekend! I know i speak for the whole team when I say we have withdrawals it was so much fun, pushing outside that comfort zone and showing ourselves we are all capable of SO much more than we think! 💪

✨️It was a fantastic event and so well organised. Thank you to all the crew & volunteers! ✨️

We also wouldn't have been anywhere without our fantastic sponsors especially and .thebar and Pool Safe Glass Fencing for fuelling us through the day!

🔊In case you've missed it this week here's a run down of what we're doing and why! Watch me and the crew putting our training to the test TOMORROW at the lismore samson challenge 🔊

Most of the crew have never done anything like this before and it's a gruelling test of fitness! An obstacle course, vertical wall climbs, tyre flips, 4km runs and a swim! 🥵

💪Come cheer us on if you're in the area it's raising money for a fantastic cause who raise vital funds to purchase equipment supporting children & their families with medical emergencies. As we gear up for the Samson Fitness Challenge, I wanted to reach out one last time to share my excitement and invite you to be part of something truly special!

Our incredible teams have been training hard, preparing for nine intense tasks, all while raising funds for Our Kids, a charity close to our hearts. They’ve raised over $2.5 million since 2001 to support our local hospitals and are aiming to purchase a vital incubator for premature babies this year. Honestly not much is different. I've worked hard to build a good amount of muscle to be able to eat a fair bit each day....

Honestly not much is different. I've worked hard to build a good amount of muscle to be able to eat a fair bit each day. Pre-event I'm sitting at around 2300 calories.

Main focus is still plenty of protein but for these few days I'm eating more carbs than normal. Carbs = fuel. They fuel your brain, body, digestion, and your sessions so we need them! They do not automatically get stored as fat and they contain much less calories than fats so we can actually eat more of them for the same cals.

By eating more now than I need my body will focus on storing these in my muscles ready to be used on the day of the event. The body is amazing and we just need to understand how it works to fuel ourselves effectively or gain the body composition we are after.

Post event the plan is to take on plenty of carbs and protein to replenish what is lost and help support my body for any repairs needed. Then right back to the usual on monday! I'll definitely be enjoying the post event BBQ and some celebratory cake first though!
